    what is the scary is the jocks now don't even try to look at it as a simple formula, they don't even think. for example one jock in an English class i had thought that lesbian marriages should be legal because he liked to watch girl on girl porn but not gay ones because that was "sick, and perverted" when people tried to explain why what he said was hypothetical he accursed them of being gay, that is jocks now.

    so you are saying that average people should not learn a process of using the tools that sit in their home work and school, and they should leave it to the elite trained which engenders hated of the tool and the trained? every one who feels like it should be able to program script or automate there computers will everyone no but they should all be able to. yes they will turn out absolute drivil but most of it will be in crap simple languages and we gurus will be able to use our lower level languages like c c++ ectera.

    when i first read it i thought stallmen was a nut but as i watch technology progress i see more and more that he is right, while i still believe that propriatary software is not a mortal sin, but more and more he seems right. some day we are all going to look back and have to grudgingly admit he was right.

    no it isn't a book, it is the natural electronic, if not replacement then, evolution the consept so as to make information dissemination and absorbtion more interactive and effective, while the traditional ebook (think pdf) will stay around because it fits better for some uses like novels,

    thats already been done it is called a chm, if you see them run. pdf may have faults but chms are evil. epub seem to be pretty good though, but what ebboks really need is multimedia, so for example where in a text book you would see a series of pictures with arrows in the ebook you could see that for low end readers or a animation with higher end readers and computers.

    You know the beach is barren compared to the tied pool, an atmosphere is a vacuum in comparison to a pool of water, it is also blasted with all sorts of UV radiation and electro magnetic radiation that is hostile to life.

    i would mod you up if i could.

    html5 had a lot of promise to replace plugins when it had a standard codec of ogg and vorbis for audio and video but without it what happens? we will use a billion different plugins for audio and video and be right back where we are now anyway. flash is cross platform and lets be honest depite being abused badly is great at serving up small games video and audio with or without drm. why should we stop using it? the only bad thing i can say about flash is it keeping the browser 32bit. my only hope is that with adobe dropping flash as it appears it will do sometime in the near future that it goes open source with it, i would find it highly amusing if it became the default video audio/vidoe codec for the html 5. just a question why is java-script supposedly superior to flash?

    just a point, the unions that are behind this like the teamsters and the film actors union, and the musicians union all traditionally support democrats. it is just that we happen to have politicians no idea how technology and information actually works. maybe we should have a slashdot party that will lower copyright length, eliminate software patents, fund stem (science technology engineering, math/medicine) studies, invest in fiber-optic lines and clean energy, defund sports, and push strong encryption and elimination or drm. i would vote for that.

    um just a point, he is British, and it is a British show. so yes he would have a British accent and he doesn't put it on for interviews he is in fact "putting on" a American accent the rest of the time.
