God, I wish Colorado cops would enforce that law. There are probably more signs saying that's the law than there are speed limit signs. But because people know that the cops will NEVER pull them over for it, they violate it with impunity. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen a cop on the road, where someone wasn't actively violating that law right next to him.

That's precisely the problem. Even if you're driving faster than everybody on the road, nobody should be "cruising" in the left hand lane. It's for passing only and that's the law in a lot of places.

If you think changing lanes is so dangerous, then yes, you probably should stay in the right lane all the time. Because it's really not that big a deal for thet vast majority of drivers. Some people aren't comfortable behind the wheel and that's ok, but you shouldn't make everyone else pay for it (especially when there's a sign every mile telling you to get out of the way).

Man, you need to be modded up. People passing me aren't doing anything to me. It doesn't phase me in the slightest. The person who cuts me off just to prevent me from passing because they think it would be safer (or slamming on their brakes when you get a little too close to the guy doing 15 under in the "passing" lane), are the ones who are actually risking people's safety. Stop playing games! The rest of us are just trying to get from point A to point B. This whole country is filled to the brim with busy-bodies whose only method of elevating themselves is to bring other people down.

If police would just enforce the keep-right-except-to-pass law, 90% of the traffic problems go away within a year. It would do a hell of a lot more to reduce speeding too, as most of that is born out of a desire to not get stuck behind one of the assholes you mentioned.

  13. But still no org pages??? on Google+ To End Real Names Policy · · Score: 1

I never really got what this was such a big deal to people. It's distracting from the fact that the site still lacks basic features, like be able to change the visibility of a post, nesting circles, chat invite though button (instead of having to know the other's e-mail), being able to select multiple circles in your stream (instead of all or 1 -- god this is so fucking obvious) and most of all ... org/group/business pages.

Without org pages, I have no way of drawing new people in since all of my social networking usually revolves around a page or a group. Google even acknowledged that it was a mistake not to be ready with them but they still haven't taken a break from surfing in the parking lot long enough to implement them.

I really wanted G+ to succeed, but there's obviously something very wrong with the management over there. I thought they were going all in with this product, but we only see a minor update every couple of weeks, and now the momentum is gone. I wonder who will get promoted for this fuck up.

Not a huge fan of their mobile apps either since buffering seems to be a concept beyond youtube's comprehension. Get the software out of beta mode and then worry about the content.

After seeing all the other (better) options out there, along with my existing supplemental options, I'll be canceling Dish this month and I've already scaled back my Netflix plan (and will further scale it back further to 1-non-Bluray-DVD a month pretty soon). The only thing that was holding me back were the news channels, but with rtmpdump piped into mplayer, I now have more news channels on my htpc than I did before. I've signed up for Hulu Plus and if I want a premium movie, I'll go pay-per-view with Vudu (which has much better video and audio quality than netflix).

The only hole left is the Discovery channel, but if they don't want to stream it, if they want to continue to rely on the bundle model, then fuck those shows. Dish/cable just isn't worth the price compared to the alternatives (and for what you get). But I'm grateful to them and netflix for pissing me off enough to consider my options.
