  1. Re:Evidence & Problems on Mass Psychosis In the USA? · · Score: 1

I talk to many people that are taking these types of drugs, and the most common reason is financial stress on the family. It is tough to get a job, it is tough to pay the mortgage. Second, these drugs work and without harmful side effects. The news is also a factor, most families are afraid to let their kids outside because a pedophile is going to get their kids! It is all mass hysteria. Also anti-psychotics are being prescribed to treat chronic pain vs. narcotics.

Psychotherapy is being used by more than the rich, try to get a appointment with a "Talking" doctor, you are looking at 2-3 months wait time. Also things like Agoraphobia, OCD, Social Phobia, etc.. are being diagnosed instead of just being stuffed down and people living in hell for their lives. Cognitive Behavioral Therapists are still pretty much unknown, but that is changing. Biofeedback is becoming more prevalent from Chiropractors to Psychotherapy. If we could only get the public school systems to provide biofeedback to kids that have behavioral issues, it would make their lives so much easier.

I do find it funny that a newspaper article is causing all this chatter about over-prescription.. Mass hysteria people... this is not something you need to worry about. These medications are not turning people into drug craving zombies. If you want to blame something, blame the medical insurance system.

Growing up I did not know what anxiety was, later in life I found out it has had complete control of my life. Anxiety, Depression, and Pain will always be part of your life. How you let it effect your life can be controlled. I am in constant pain, but it does not hurt me.

There are several articles about the Earths energy budget based on Satellite data claims that the heat is missing and they don't know where it went, but they are SURE! that the Increase of C02 is trapping 100% more energy than they can account for.

    http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2010/04/100415141121.htm
But in the past decade, there has been a growing divergence between the satellite readings and ocean observations that indicate the build-up of heat is slowing. This "missing" heat could, in part, be the result of instrument error or incorrect data processing, but much of it may be going into the deep ocean or elsewhere on Earth that is beyond the reach of current sensors.

    http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2010-04/nsf-hm041510.php
Satellite measurements indicate that the amount of greenhouse-trapped solar energy has risen over recent years while the increase in heat measured in the top 3,000 feet of the ocean has stalled.

Although it is difficult to quantify the amount of solar energy with precision, Trenberth and Fasullo estimate that, based on satellite data, the amount of energy build-up appears to be about 1.0 watts per square meter or higher, while ocean instruments indicate a build-up of about 0.5 watts per square meter.

That means about half the total amount of heat is unaccounted for.

  6. Re:How to estimate the cooling needs? on Cooling Challenges an Issue In Rackspace Outage · · Score: 1

Cooling is only part of the equation, humidity control and a Air Handler that keeps the air moving 100% of the time is just as important. Putting a wall unit in that turns off and on every 2-3 minutes isn't going to last long. Depending on the region you live in your humidity is going to vary from 0% to 100% depending on the seasons.

You need a System that is designed for a computer room, worst case, spec a system that can maintain your humidity at 50%, and the blower running 100% of the time re-circulating, temperture change is more problematic than Heat alone. A system that goes up and down in temp 2-3 degrees every 5 minutes is worse than keeping your servers in a 90F room.

I am also assuming your not doing raised floor, and most common servers now are front/rear cooling vs bottom/top so make sure they design the air flow in the room accordingly.
