I have to agree that downloading more than 180 hours of music a month probably indicates that someone is abusing the account. Either that or they are abusing their ears - can you imagine how much of that music must be really bad?
The main reason I dislike a service with a "cap" is not that it restricts me, because it almost never would given that I'm pretty normal (or at least I think so), but that I have to worry about whether I'm going to hit that cap when, once in a while, I have something "large" to do.
I like the comparison to the buffet lunch. Perhaps it would be less misleading to call it "all you can listen to" (or "all you can stand") than "unlimited."
WaveRider Communications has been selling 802.11 based units with ranges up to 15 km (with outdoor antennas) for several years. The 900 MHz ISM band units work non-line-of-sight (i.e. through trees and walls) for 3-4 km.
The note at the top of the simulation states that the applet was implemented using only 2-body methods. Does this not mean that the interesting aspects of the orbit - which are due to the influence of the Earth - are not modelled?
Check out WaveRider Communications LMS4000 900 MHz Modems. We've been selling broadband NLOS systems for over a year, with thousands installed. At 2.75 Mbps raw data rate (up to 1.96 Mbps FTP's!) and a range of up to 10 km in rural areas, they are a great solution (I may be biased, being one of the engineers who designed it). Even better, the majority of installations are indoor, with an antenna mounted by a window, and can be done by the customer.
Unless, of course, the hunter aims high enough that the length of the arc travelled by the bullet is enough longer than the direct path of the sound that the monkey has time to hear and fall before the bullet gets there ("there" being the intersection of the arc of the bullet and the path of the monkey as it falls...)
And how many wish it hadn't?

FYI - I work for WaveRider.

Not compatible with other 802.11 devices of course (different frequency, 1/4 rate), but 5 km range!
