First past the post is broken to begin with. But it's worse in the USA, since the candidate with the most votes isn't always the winner. Why allocate states instead of voters? What is also broken is the primary system. Some states will organize them for democrats and republicans, but not others, effectively making this a two party state. And finally, the whole financing of political parties is a shame. Elections are won by money even more than elsewhere.
Until we get more solar power than our day-time consumption your point is moot. Night/rain isn't a problem when 99% of your energy comes from fossils fuels which must be the case in UAE. They'll simply burn less coal/oil/gas when it's sunny. And on average, that means 3/kWh which is fantastic.
It's more complex than that. Those in provinces without an HST don't pay PST when ordering from outside their province, as long as the e-tailer has no presence (brick and mortar) in that province. Legally however, you should pay PST yourself but nobody does it, which is tax evasion. When ordering from outside Canada, both GST and PST must be charged, either at source or by the customs. Again, it is sometimes not charged by eBay sellers in China but this is tax evasion too.
Does the case feel like it will fall apart on the first tweak?
I've bought dozens of PCs, for myself and others. I have carried a laptop for years on bicycle, including on snow/ice and fell multiple times. I've never replaced a desktop, and not even a laptop, because of a broken case. Even the so-called "cheap plastic" laptops are more than durable enough for a lifespan of 3-10 years. And even in the unlikely case of a case break, the laptop will most likely continue to work just fine, and therefore the problem would be only cosmetic. Too old and too slow, or broken display/hard drive/RAM/fan/whatever are good reasons to replace/upgrade a PC. But a broken case, really?
1812 wasn't a war involving Canada-as-a-country, since it wasn't even a country back then. It was a war between the US and the UK. The people of Canada lost, having to remain loyal subjects of a foreign crown. Canada is lucky not to have turned that bad over the years, but back then it was still a big loss for Canada, just like if the US lost its independence war.
I have an idea, to avoid false alarms, we could require 2 more buttons instead of just one. The user would need to press once on a button and twice on the other.
They are. This is what people don'T understand. Perhaps Netflix could offer all the US content for $30/month. But in order to keep costs down, they offer less content.
Like it or not, border hopping means getting content that you are not licensed to get. It's piracy, just like it is piracy to get a student version of a software if you are not a student. Just because you pay for something doesn't mean it isn't piracy. Some people pay for VPN/tunnels/torrent trackers/newsgroup, and the copyright holder gets nothing of that money. If the copyright holder of TV show XYZ sold it in Canada to a Netflix competitor but to Netflix in the US, that Canadian competitor is right to expect money from all those who watch the show in Canada.
Each and every of these Asians and Africans have as much right to live as you do. Saying that they should not be allowed to pollute, or that Americans and Europeans should have a right to pollute more, is plain racism. If world population grows, no matter where the growth comes from, that means polluters have to reduce their pollution even more.
What's broken?

Thanks to a totally broken electoral system.
polls can't always be right. They have margin of errors. A single poll doesn't mean much.

is that they still do not allow adblock on their mobile version.
But unfortunately, it's still the best way to deal with them.
I prefer extensions than forced unwanted features such as Hello and Pocket.
Good for you if you like ads. I don't.
Not sure which laptops you've bought
Mostly cheap ones.
or how they've dropped,
That's my point, they haven't. Or they were in their protecting bag when it happened.

Switzerland != Sweden
It still overshadows ALL OTHER music management programs out there massively.
Yes, and Windows is the most popular OS. And IE was (is?) the most popular browser.
iTunes is still crap.
Except this actually has wireless AND more space than a nomad, so I guess we finally have a device which isn't lame.
It would be interesting to know at least the top 10 manufacturers.
Not at the same time, in sequence.

There is no indication from this - and if anything counter indication - that they wouldn't pay for it if they could.
Of course there is. All this content is available on cable TV, Bluray, Netflix competitors, etc.

you never heard of false positive?

And even if the entirety of Europe and the US went low-carbon, what difference does it make
A huge one?
Great for all 0.1% of rooted devices out there.
Blocking host file is nowhere near to be as convenient (can't be disabled on the fly or for a specific site), plus you need a rooted device.
