If their drivers didn't suck more nuts than jamie mccarthy, then yes he would. But since it's people like you that write half-assed software that "works", he's gonna stick with both a brand and an OS that has at least somewhat worthwhile support.
When I can run something out of the box, without having to tweak it for 3 hours, then recompile my kernel, then reinstall again, then install a WINE patch, the reboot, then watch my program crash every 5 minutes, I'll stop dissing Linux, but as long as the only people who can use it are people who spend their entire life using it, it's crap by my book.
Linux nerds either need to walk thier walk or stfu before someone with a baseball bat practices some stone age dentistry on them.
The most stable video card I have ever owned was my Voodoo 5 5500. When it came out, nothing touched it. I just recently bought a nVidia card because the support for the voodoo was nonexistant under windows xp. 3dfx was the industry leader, and since nVidia bought their technology, they are now the leaders. ATi can eat a dick with their crappy cards. Dual GPU cards are hard enough to write drivers for without having to deal with all the bloated dogshit ATi insists on including in thier products.
Want my advice? Build an Athlon XP+ or MP+ system and get a Geforce 4 if you want performance. If you want something to rip music videos off of MTV2, buy an ATi cheapo card. That's the only thing ATi has down.
