    Mr Shuttleworth, With respect.... I'm not sure making out of context and irrelevant analogies to philosophical/political organisations helps the cause for which you are battling. Don't fall for the main stream media tactic of trying to introduce irrelevant political, social and philosophical argument than is required to make a point. It'll reshape Ubuntu's image to the likeness of MSNBC or CNN. In other words, WTF are you talking about? It's a PC operating system for petes sake!

    Treason? It'd be fair guess. But the greens demanding an explanation? If they were in power we'd all be living, surrounded by the sound of green jack boots, with the internet so slow it'd be rendered useless from their surveillance and censoring. This has been going on for years!! If I can encrypt my IP traffic, jump through VPN and proxy hoops to annonymise my browsing from my home PC what can the feds do with computing and storage power comin' out of their clacker?     Not many seem to get how close to tyranny we are getting! The next economic crisis will probably finish democracy and any semblance of individual freedom off. The collective is gaining ground aided by the state. All we'll end up is one collective competing against the other. And it’ll all be for the "Common good". When you manage to get the focus of individuals onto the "common good". Any denial of individuality and freedom/s can be justified. Not long now tick tick tick.....

Simple! 51%, or more?, of US citizens are comfortable with what the NSA is doing. Sorry, the US constitution is toast, the economy is toast, the USA system is toast.     OK, No problem. BUT. Do they realise it will be used against them during the next crisis from which they elect a saviour that says "I will protect you from the people and organisations that caused your grief", "I have all the tools I need to prosecute the criminals that caused this damage to our beloved father land"? It's not Obama. The saviour will be cleverer than that! Obama is just another getting you used to the idea of giving up freedoms and rights in the name of security. You know you don't need "terrorist laws". What a lot crud that is. You only need a functioning "Common Law" system. As Common Law is clearly not in practice and the people are clearly clueless as to it's operation and intent?.... The people of the USA should fear themselves and the world should fear the United States. Any population that has the Firepower, and still industrial power of the USA that thinks like this, is a worry for the rest. Those that give up their natural freedoms for the promise of security provided by others deserve neither!

If you can redefine the fundamental natural right of a Man and Woman to join together to raise a family, and pass provision for the state to claim responsibility for the off spring (Economic/Societal units) of that Union? You can redefine anything you damn well like!
