    Florida state stopped taxing income in the 80s because there was so much money off the books in the drug trade. They switched to sales tax and got in on the action because even drug dealers need to buy stuff.

    His brilliance as a theoretical physics is debated by lots of other theoretical physicists, but who really cares about stuff that nobody can prove one way or the other. I find it a much shorter stretch to accept that our mythology is based on ancient extra terrestrials than to believe that AI will overthrow humanity. At least in my lifetime. There is a far greater probability that if anybody overthrows humanity it will be... humanity.

    There was never any real interference issue. Pilots have been using their cell phones since their invention. If there was a real RF interference issue, there would be stricter enforcement than, "Please turn off your devices."

    Probably some of the cops. Not only should it be mandatory, but also broadcast online so the people can review their law enforcement officials. I would add all officers patrolling in vehicles should have GPS tracking info available so the people can monitor officers abusing the speed limit.

    Not just unlikely. Highly unlikely. The why has nothing to do with probability and everything to do with age. The universe was already 13 billion years old when life happened on Earth. All.of the elements necessary to create life had already existed for 9 or 10 billion years.
