Gee, I don't know maybe from here: Article I, Section 8, Clause 8 To promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts, by securing for limited times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries.

    Your crazy if you think the medallion system was put in place to "protect incumbents". In fact I have yet to see anyone offer any proof of any "taxi cartel". New York at one point had more the 30,000 cabs on the street, it affected safety and that is the reason the medallion system no restricts the number of cabs on the road to a bit over 16,000.

    And tens of millions of games don't agree with the gamergate idiots who support slut shaming, swatting, doxing and so on. I'm a gamer as well, have been since the days of Kings Quest on my PC jr and lode runner on my Apple IIe.     well they did use some for their TCP/IP stack, at least back in the days of NT which would make me think some is still hanging around, even today. Nothing wrong with that, I mean the BSD license is truly free.

    Big whoop, I sit on my 30-foot sailboat in Barrington Harbor. I am no where near what one would call well off. Having a boat does not mean you are rich. I make a lot of sacrifices so I can sail as it is the only thing I do anymore that provides me with relaxation.

    I seriously doubt this would be considered a tax deductible expenditure. U.S. Code 162 - Trade or business expenses penalties or fines paid to any government agency or instrumentality because of a violation of any law are not deductible.
