If you wait till then, you are waiting for all out war within our borders. Cancer and heart disease are mainly elderly diseases, you might as well wait for immortality. But if you say it's wrong to stop specific treats to public safety then I strongly disagree. Our police are not there to stop cancer or heart disease, they are there to enforce the laws and react to threats such as these. And hey they killed 2 birds with one stone, not only did they catch the terrorists there were also no traffic fatalities.
A known threat, that had already killed 3 people is quite a bit different then the non specific possibility of a threat. Yes on a daily basis you are more likely to get killed on a bus. But on a day when a mad bomber is loose in a city those statistics may shift a bit.
Correct, though the people may deserve some sympathy what is needed from our politicians is an investigation as to why this plant was allowed to flaunt safety regulations. The greatest respect we can show the victims of the West Texas accident is to hold those responsible accountable, from the owners of the plant to the regulators who failed to perform the required inspections.
West Texas was completely preventable, and a failure of regulatory oversight.
Actually the one that was an attack and not a regrettable accident caused by negligence got the majority of the media coverage because there were armed and dangerous men with explosives on the loose in a heavily populated area. So yes I think that based a test of which information was more relevant to ongoing safety that they were correct to focus on the bombing and subsequent manhunt.
I would hardly say what the Boston PD and FBI did were the actions of a trigger happy police force. All in all it was a text book example of correct police work. They stayed on target and solved this case in record time. It was the media who gave the worst show. So let's not blame the authorities on the failure of the media.
So what you are looking for is a magazine reader not a book reader. That's really the only reason (barring children's books) I can see for color e-ink in a e-reader.
No they don't they stupidly stick to their guns regardless of the current situation. It doesn't matter if they are seriously harming the country as long as they stay true to their ideals.
So how many people chose to buy from Standard Oil? Or even knew they were buying from. Monopolies are rarely created buy consumer choice. That is suce a complete bullshit argument. Monopolies are created by the buying of some competitors and the destruction of others.
In other words, who chooses to buy windows? they just want a pc but they have no choice but to purchase from Microsoft.
So because it is made up of people it is a person. That logic makes no sense. In a corporation you are not listening to groups of people, you are listening to the owner of the corporation. and if you have trouble understanding that a corporation is not a group of people due to the fact that only the people at that top have any say then take this argument into account. Only citizens may have a say in how are country is run, we don't let non-citizens vote or donate to politicians. How many corporations are citizens?
The number you are looking for is a very small percent of our population who "are on welfare or disability that do not need to be". Yes there would be some but I hardly doubt it would be a significant portion that would enjoy living at the poverty line.
Except studies have been done that prove the exact opposite of what you claim. And I don't believe there are many that will concur with your hypothesis.
We all know where meat comes from, except it seems you. If it's beef then it came from a cow. I dare you to go out and shoot a cow and see how well it turns out for you. We eat meat from domesticated animals, no one actually hunts for food because we don't have to. Hunting for food sucks, and is in nature only successful around half the time.
I think politicians should be free to react to the conditions and not have their hands tired by some stupid pledge. They already take a pledge that they should hold above all others during their service.
you can't rdp with out windows, even if your client isn't windows your host is. So you do most of your admin stuff on windows, your just accessing it remotely. I do the same I manage my network via my mac, using rdp to either the servers or a desktop. That means I make heavy use of windows and my mac acts like a thin client.
Shotgun is probably he best home defense weapon. You most likely only have to cock the gun to make the suspect leave. Nothing is scarier then a pump action shotgun you can hear but not see.
You'll take the guy who trains for events, good for you so would I but honestly how likely is it they are going to be around when you need them. And how often in these events is someone shooting back at you, because believe it or not that makes a huge difference regardless of your 1911.45acp.
IPSC is hardly practical shooting. It's a target shooting contest. It has zero relation to a firefight where you have to control your panic.
I agree in my haste to post I misused a word. Can you ever forgive my most egregious error.

No conflict, hell I am proud of the effectiveness of our response. We got the bad guys and a day off work, what the hell is anyone complaining about.
Except your average gun man/gang member isn't tossing around grenades.
True, but most of us aren't anti gun we are just pro gun regulation.

No but it may save you when the bomb is dropped 2 houses over and you are not perforated with shrapnel thanks to your 4 walls and a roof.

And you get that idea because we are so good at voting out bad politicians today?

Nope, no one does
You really think the authorities are buying .22LR? You might want to double check your conspiracy theory.
