"Evolutionists"? Whereas all creationists are deluded, the rest of the field of science is less single-minded. Because people share a belief in evolution does not mean that they have any other scientific or UNRELATED HISTORICAL THEORIES in common.
"Yeah, its mostly P2P but if you join an australian bnetd server u know that everyone else on the bnetd server are going to have low pings to you as they are australian."
Joining an Aussie channel or making your game name "Aussies only" must be beyond your grasp.
what might that be?

i love accents. the nice part about phone support (the ONLY) is getting to hear all the accents around you. it's fun to get a fargo, or boston native on the phone;P
now that you mention it. !=. whatever the fuck. i'm not a programmer, never claimed to be. did a little cgi to go with graphic design classes. big fucking deal. it still doesn't affect the fact that i'm sick of beowulf jokes, does it?
>Perhaps - do you really feel alienated because >the DVD isn't already on the shelves
no, no. i'm not at arms, or anything like that, but it puts me off a bit. i've always considered alienation to be a more subtle thing.
>I don't know that George has any obligation to >provide a DVD edition of his movie on any >particular timeframe.
he doesn't. the delay doesn't bother me, it's the fact that he can get more money from us if he waits. and considering his stance on toys:) i think it's more of a money issue than adding special effects. jesus, i mean how long does it take to re-add all the out-takes, maybe add an already produced documentary, and engineer for DVD? skywalker ranch is one of THE supreme places for mastering. i don't think they'd really sweat it.
>George is a producer and a businessman. I don't >begrudge him the ability to make money.
i don't either unless it interferes with my enjoying of the final product. i am not just a marketing statistic, and would like more "creative visionaries" to treat us as such. (note: i'm biased. my g/f worked in marketing for a while, so we get into arguments all the time about such a subject;> )
>If he REALLY wanted to make his fans happy he'd >give away free DVDs of the movie to everybody as >they exit the theater. That seems like an >unreasonable expectation, however.:)
naah, never been done before, perfect time to start!
Gibson Research's Click-o-Death detector
pretty useful. too bad i got screwed out of my rebate because of the date i bought my zip drives... f*cking new ones i own don't have that problem. wasn't this mostly noticed through the parallel port ones? i haven't heard of many drives going bad through ide, only disks.
"Almost every adult in the USA can operate a car with little difficulty. Yet the interface is not intuitive - press one pedal to make it go, another to make it stop? Turn a vertical wheel to change horizontal direction? "
you have to have training to drive a car, or teach yourself. intuitive my ass. how is that different than rtfm with a computer or app? no fucking different. i mean jesus, you need to practice to *ride a bicicyle*, let alone drive a car.
"we grow up riding in cars, we see them operated on TV and in movies. "
and this teaches you how to drive? no more than watching er makes you a doctor by that comparison.
growing up riding cars is direct training, not as indirect as you are implying.
"I get the feeling that most of these people hate it because it doesn't have the same cheesy effects as the other three."
exactly. they had heart, rather than relying on polish. of course, ymmv. that's just how i see it.
"I personally liked Jar-Jar binks far more than Anakin"
true. but i hated them both. oh, the little wunderkind, how "special" he is...
how sweet is he? watch as wacky hijinks ensue!/me goes back to shuddering in the corner from the horror of that movie.
"I still thought that it was a prime example of Lucas 'doing it his way'"
i still think he has too many yes-men, and not enough people keeping him in check. if i wanted to see a children's flick, jesus... even the ewok tv-movies were decent.
"And I'm not sure why you think that requiring proof is such a wrong thing."
Proof is required for supernatural existence, not for the non-existence of supernatural/mythical deities and creatures.
He refers to imagination in the creative context, not in the capacity you're referring to.

And why is that, captain baseless conjecture?
The "all native americans lived in harmony with the land and used every part of the animal" myth also needs to die.
I'm not holding my breath, though.
Your right to use the software with bnetd has nothing to do with the "right" of bnetd's creators to mimic battle.net.
There's no coincidence. Blizzard saw that there were *many* more users on the bnet alternatives than sanctioned testers, they were rightly pissed.

yes, the new economy will come and crush you!
:)
heh heh heh
this one was kinda funny, at least. *shrug*
'its irony, i was playing off the long-time slashdot "i wish i had a beowulf cluster of these" tradition'
i'm just snippy, i guess... some people tend to take that joke to a dreadful extent. kinda makes me snap sometimes.

still beats beanie babies, i s'pose.
just a continuation of the alienation of his fanbase. yes, /. IS more vocal than the rest, but it's still happening with the rest of them.

please do wipe them out... they really do make /. a useless pile of shit. at least the aybabtu ones were funny originally. the horror... the horror.

aww, i wouldn't say that. i give it a 6 out of 10. too obvious.

too easy, troll.
you're right. no way. someone else took that dubious honor. go find something constructive to do.
