I've submitted two patches over the last decade or so!! Can I be subpoena'd too?!??! Please Darl? Can I? Can I?Can I? Can I?Can I? Can I? pleaseohpleaseohcanipleasebesubpoeanaed by SCO??
Ahh.. I probably should have clarified that I was talking about the long, long ago graphics market where people were going from ISA video cards to VL Bus cards.. PCI hadn't really made it's first splash yet..
A long, long time ago, in a graphics market far, far away, S3 used to have some pretty awesome chips and drivers. I used to say "poo" on the S3 stuff, after exeperiencing several Diamond manufactured S3 based cards that were piles of crap, with drivers that absolutely sucked for anything but Windows - the Windows drivers got around all the bugs of the cards, whereas the drivers for all other OS's were just reference drivers, and illuminated hundreds of issues with the hardware.
Then, I discovered, upon using a couple of computers that had reference boards, rather than Diamond-enhanced boards.. that the reference boards, with the reference drivers were an order of magnitude better, faster, more stable, than what I had believed from teh Diamond junk.
Just because XGI is a "new player" (with experienced hands) and the beta card sucks and the beta drivers suck.. doesn't mean that they can't make quality out of it.
Ya know, I actually think that the names of the parts are the coolest part, so far. The benchmarks and screenshots definitely left something to be desired.
Namely, quality and efficiency.
Then again, I'm still using a Radeon 7000 PCI, and a Voodoo3 in my two computers. So.. I can't bitch much.
"You cannot know someone until you fight them" made perfect sense for identifying The One to someone who was bound by the rules of the Matrix. Of course, he could have just had Neo fly, or blow some shit up with his mind, just as well.. but that worked too.
Actually, when I was there, two weeks ago, for the first time, they were very obnoxious. Shoving them at you, snapping them, making noises, etc. I don't think any of them spoke enough English to even say much, though because I had to switch to my very poor Spanish when I became exasperated (after several hours of being accosted by them) and threatened to light them on fire if they didn't back the hell away. I don't know what I was actually saying in Spanish, because I was also very drunk, but they stopped being so annoying.
In addition to things like that, there's the costs of the handsets (retail figure anywhere from $150-$300 for models given away 'free' with service agreement), and that it's figured that the cost of acquiring a customer in the cellular business is something along the lines of $400 per line activated. So, you need to spend around $40 per month in one year, with your cell company, for them to even recoup the costs of getting you online.
Number Portability should be an interesting time to be in the wireless business, though. heh.
I'd say OS/2 would be pretty strong, too, pretty much anything IBM. But then, JFS was taken from AIX & OS/2 and put into Linux. So, who knows on that step.
Ever been to Vegas? There's all sorts of Mexicans out on the streets that just hand you business "cards"/advertisements for call girls. Apparently since there are hundreds of them that do this, it's apparently working for someone.
Hey now, I am extremely articulate, and had no problem understanding all the words. But, they were thrown WAY too fast and WAY too many three-syllable and up SAT words (the things we call "fifty cent words", i'm not even sure why) to make it meaningful in any way to anyone who could only see the movie once, IMHO.
And I didn't want to see Reloaded again, just to watch the Architect. Now that the roommates have pirated the DVD from someone in Taiwan, though, maybe I can rerun a few good scenes.
Hey.. that's amazing.. I used to tell people that I had heard somewhere that Star Wars was designed as a nine-part story.. but that after the middle three, Lucas was going to go back and do the first three, and then likely wouldn't live long enough to do the last three..
what i'd heard was that he cut out whatever the last three were going to be becaue he KNEW that if he was able to get 6 out, he wouldn't live long enough to get 9 out...
of course, had he not waited a decade or so between part 3 and part 1, and then taken two years per movie, maybe he could get 30 of the things out.
more like a james bond, where you detail the individual explots of each character, rather than huge things like they are.
The physics of GT are not perfect, but they are good.
I haven't played Woods or Links, but I do compete in the GT tournaments.. Unfortunatly, I'm the best player I've ever met here on the west side of Detroit.. though there are TONS of gold level players on the EAST side of Detroit.. it's much too high travel time (especially when drinking!) to get back and forth..
If there's any GT players on West side of Detroit, let me know!! heh
Yeah, I'm feeling a little pissed off now, as the Dearborn Greenfield Village Imax only picked up Reloaded for like 12 days, none of which I had time in to go catch it, and it doesn't look like they are picking up Revolutions at -all-, at least it's not on their calendar.
So the next closest theater is Grand Rapids.. Gotta drive from the big city of Detroit to the little village of Grand Rapids to see it? that's bullshit.
Well, Led Zeppelin used to do a lot of tricks like that, I remember reading an interview where they said that sometimes they would record the guitar part, then record it over itself, reversed, making it virtually impossible to actually play in real life..
CC Deville from Poison used to record a song, then reverse it, and try to learn to play it backwards, as a way to improve his playing ability, I remember reading once.. I thought that was a nifty idea.
See, the technique as a whole might work out ok, but in the case of two of the three songs that I've heard from St. Anger, it was awful. I have heard a song recently on "Mandatory Metallica" (played 10pm on detroit's 101.1 wrif, mon-fri) from the new album that I thought actually was a good song.. but I don't know the name of it.
The only accident I've ever been in occured while I was changing the radio. Utterly destroyed four vehicles. w00t!
I also use this one. It's $20 at RadioShack (less if you buy it with your phone) (cat no 17-853). I like it a lot.
i'll sue you for $19.99. 'k?
Maybe they wanted him to take a bath?

I don't believe this is a criminal trial - this is a contract infringment trial. Therefore, it would not be a trial by jury.
Trying to use the cards with OS/2 was when I discovered that they sucked when they didn't have their Windows drivers behind them.
bleah!

Same train station from the first movie.
Back to the beginning we go!!!
yay..........

So, then, we find, for those that make it through the third movie, that the humans only THOUGHt they were being used as batteries.
You have to finish the story to find out the real answers.

Dude.. $17.50 for IMAX? How much are tickets at a regular theater where you are??
I've got IMAX tickets for $11.50, and that's BEFORE my friend's employee discount!
Regular theater tickets around here are about $8.00.

The Episode IV header WAS in the original release of Star Wars. That was to make people who paid attention go "what the fuck?"
Actually, the POKE would change the power supply voltages, thereby smoking the whole thing...
