Exactly. At various points during my career I've had the pile of resume`s dropped onto my desk with the purpose of weeding out the wastes. Honestly, it doesn't take very long to spot the big problems - poorly formatted/hard to read? Gone. Can't spell the name of their state correctly? Gone. Hasn't been employed in the field for the last 8 years? Gone. It's not that much of a challenge.
If your job as management has you "so busy" (Yeah, I've worked with management before too - what a fucking joke) that you can't actually do your job, it sounds to me like your company needs to hire someone else for YOUR position. Christ, if you're going to do something, do it right. Hiring someone simply because you're too lazy to look through the resume`s might be an indication of why it's so difficult to get things done.
HR departments aren't any better, and at least in tech fields (in my experience) are far far worse. I had my resume` dumped by HR at a former company because they didn't understand that my work experience actually translated to the experience they needed - I was fortunate in that I was able to contact the actual manager and send him my resume` personally. If I hadn't done that, I wouldn't have gotten the job - and I know this because even after he hired me HR was trying to convince him that I wasn't qualified (something that was evident with a five minute conversation, or, you know...reading my fucking resume`).
And these women have the same choices available to them as "ugly" people or "men" who are out of work. They also have the added bonus of a career or job that pays well, where there's a demand for it. Nothing is stopping some woman who is broke and unemployed from *not* taking a job in the porn industry. All Iceland is doing is removing some people's choices because other people are a bit flustered by seeing a bit of skin.
If you don't like porn, don't watch it. If you don't want to be in porn, don't do it. If you're being forced against your will (as another commenter said), the problem isn't "porn", it's with kidnapping and rape, which are also illegal pretty much everywhere.
Sure. You first. I'll be on board the instant it won't make me look like one lone nutcase (nutcases can be shot much easier when they're by themselves instead of in large, dispersed groups).
I think he was referring to those times when a "hacker" has been caught, but been too smart to leave evidence. That being said, I'd like some sources too...Google isn't turning much up for me.
Unless both parties are have an understood agreement that neither party can lose as long as the public does. Kind of like professional wrestling - people get hurt and there's some pride on the line, but at the end of the day everyone is getting paid.
That being said, we've seen a few politicians in the last year or two that seem to have woken up to the reality of awful the US Govt has become and are saying so. We can hope the trend continues.
So quit worrying about why the rest of us like to get fucked up and stop asking questions that are nothing more than your thinly veiled criticism of someone else's life choices.
This times 1000...if you hadn't posted AC I'd mod you up...
If you can come in with a good enough sob story about how your molested as a kid (for example) then you stand a decent chance of getting lower than what the US attorney is suggesting.
This.
They might not be able to do it right now (maybe), but you can bet your ass that some department somewhere is working on it. Legally or illegally, they will have access whether you like it or not.
I wish I could mod this up.
I've been doing the computer thing for about 20 years, been doing IT work for about 15 of that. The industry is dying and being replaced by carbon-copy morons, businesses don't want to pay fair value for experience, so experienced people who know the value of their skills can't get paid for them.
Studies of marital infidelity suggest women are sneakier. They're no more faithful, but they don't get caught as much. Not having the irresistible urge to brag about wrongdoings to their friends at the bar/locker room probably helps.
That could be due to the husbands not being perceptive enough to notice as well. Instead of women being more sneaky, maybe men are just more oblivious.
Maybe I'm just paranoid, but what's the likelihood that Kim Dotcom has been bought? Doesn't anyone else find it a bit strange that after all of the bullshit he went through he's effectively opening the exact same business (with no fear, I might add)? Were I to use cloud storage (I don't) and if I were to use it for hosting illegal files, I would be concerned that my information is being made available directly to the feds.
Funny...when I got my clearance I don't remember anything about acceding to torture. Imprisonment? Absolutely. Torture? Supposedly only from the bad guys.
oh...wait...
If we weren't at least a handful of generations beyond that point I'd agree. There comes a time when the past is the past and people need to look toward the future.
Yeah, Google pulled the same shit on me with my AdSense account...they've still got some $200 they owe me.
I have since pulled most of my business from Google...now all I need is a reasonably good search engine replacement and I can dispense with their BS...
...I'm going to laugh my ass off if the apocalypse DOES happen on Friday. I mean, I'll laugh as long as I'm able to...probably with quite a few swearwords and an "about damn time"
This - I wish you hadn't posted AC or I'd mod you up.

I completely agree (as I should).
Yet...
That's an interesting point - I haven't read the article, but I wonder if their bans will spread to sex-based literature...

It's already been done.

Not to mention that the quote is from Yoda, and not Mr. Spock...but I guess that's picking nits when the entire sig has to be a joke :p

I doubt it...they seemed to recover rather quickly from the fallout from their rootkits...

Yes, from an individual liberty perspective Mittens was worse.

ITT Tech accepted me no questions asked.
Yeah, like me you just paid a fortune for a piece of paper and some ink.

Only problem with this is that in order to get Gypsy tears you generally have to manage to earn a Gypsy curse.
