uhm, who's trolling? Here is the consensus definition... "with 'trolling' being used to describe many intentionally provocative actions outside of an online context."
If I may be so bold as to suggest, well some intentionally provocative suggestion to better your perspective and improve your love life, as opposed to spending so much clearly productive time here.
As far as I'm concerned (posting with my fifty year old eyes) holding my measly iPhone 3Gs as close as twelve inches away from my face is far too close! Typically over 2 feet, sometimes on my lap (reading from the Kindle app), etc. So, as with most user-mitigated responses (and Slashdot threads), the reality is all over the map, and your mileage may vary. Many post closer to the actual, pointing out this is much the same as arguing over how much "new and improved" is actually better.

support screws really don't enter into this: Anyone can use Gracenote recognition in their player (providing they use a player who's authors pay) to incorporate (currently) Gracenote's metadata for their convenience (saving hours of track-title typing), no betrayal involved (remember, define: donate). Anyone accessing your drive, or sniffing your "shared playlist" stream can use the metadata to attempt identification. As for RIAA hunting your sorry ass down for copyright violation, if you do the crime...

job satisfaction over $ I recommend, you can always become a mindless cog at a later time.

How to Win on Ebay: Snipe
·
· Score: 5, Insightful
robnator's a bit slow... if everyone snipes to win auctions, what's the trouble? If you really wanted it, you'd snipe with bids like $1000...
thing with the auction concept is you're SUPPOSED to bid what you'd like to pay if no one else is running up the price (rinse. lather, repeat) until you reach your wallet's limit. eBay's modification imposes a time limit to keep auctions from taking forever, but with the maximum bid concept it brings its 'auction' back towards the original.
the reason people snipe (vs. just bidding their personal maximum to start) is fear of being run up by shills. it's a survival mechanism for your money, if such a thing isn't self-contradicting on eBay...
wearing our placards: 'Here's precisely how we're about to screw you, sure you're up for it?'
How many 'merchants' will disclose their 'profit-making secrets' to the public (yes, we used to call them 'customers' also) when they are inseparable from certain aspects of one-upsmanship and opportunism?
^ (i.e. a point that's hard to buy hats for) being that it seems unreasonable to ask folks to behave in an unreasonable fashion. If folks are out to 'make a living off you' or some other euphemism (def: a polite lie, imo) it's not unreasonable to compare these activities to 'trying to eat you', but it might be unreasonable to expect them to go 'hungry'.
It's not "bots" that'll cripple online gaming, it's the same tendency towards collusion and fraud that hampers face-to-face games. If you have a subgroup of players in a game conspiring to exchange information, you're SOL, regardless of whether some talented coder has manufactured the player or not.

you are simply NOT a huge ISP if your "bandwidth" is impacted by DNS traffic.
Be careful what you wish for: remember the plan for the space ships powered by lobbing nuclear bombs underneath them?
