Ok, I will change my angle then. You are saying that the open source community only works for selfish reasons? Well, that sure is an interesting sentiment; seams to go against the ideology that open source software represents.
You know, I disagree. I think the GIMP team really wants to develop a professional application. It's just not quite there yet. Professional designers (myself included) aren't going to use GIMP because it just can't do even some of the simple stuff that we need. Now, if the GIMP team doesn't care about creating a professional tool, I just don't get what they are going for. Why waste their time on an extremely difficult tool with limited abilities? Furthermore, stop telling people who don't code, but want to be part of the open source community, that there needs and wants are not valid, because you are missing the point.
From what I remember, Hulu was an effort for the cable companies to stay on the heels of Netflix. Now that Netflix pretty much lives up the ass of those same broadcast companies, what's the point of Hulu? This looks like the broadcast companies pushing the Hulu kill switch.
I'm a bit confused. What is your issue? Commercials in Hulu? Aren't you also forced to watch commercials when you have a cable subscription? Just because you pay for the cable subscription does not mean that there are no commercials. Just because Netflix doesn't have commercials, why shouldn't Hulu? They provide different services.
I was under the assumption that organic farms yielded more crops, and that we use pesticides / non-organic grown methods because they are just more fun.
1. why are you a troll? I mean, this entire post was flaimbait in the first place. So either I agree with the post or I am modded as a troll. Lame. 2. I agree +100. 3. Your description of Apple reminds me of "the entity" from south park, and I feel like you are not too far off.
Maybe if we could develop an application that uses ESP. It's one thing if the user is asking questions with a static answer. For example: "How far away is Los Angeles" should technically be one result. But, if we ask anything natural or subjective, then it is impossible to get the quality of results that we can get from browsing the first 10 google results. For example: "How good is the new iPad" should, in theory, get a result from siri like "best technological advancement since the printing press", but obviously the question is subjective to the user and that answer is BS. Otherwise, the best answer it can get us is just going to be a list of appropriate answers, also known as search results.
How is instagram worth more than half the countries in this world? I mean, from a utilitarian perspective, Facebook is worth less to humans than a good shit. It's scary to me that meaningless code, completely useless in reality, absolutely un-groundbreaking and without merit, could be worth 1 billion dollars. What a ridiculous waste of money.
The private broadcasters are upset because CBC is broadcasting free music. Shocking. I mean, it must be wrong / illegal if it goes against the streaming business model of the private broadcasters. I just don't get it. If CBC has rights to that music, they can do whatever they want with it. Just because it may cut into the profits of other distributors, I don't see the leap in logic that makes music intrinsically monetized. Would this be like Napster (or some other pay-to-listen service) suing a radio station for streaming their station live?
I hate oracle. I hate oracle at work. I hate reading about oracle. I hate that oracle is now in control of Java. Oracle is just like Sun, only the exact opposite.
Apparently the AP is reporting that the missile broke up shortly after lauch, and has called the launch a failure. This is not entirely true. The missile broke apart releasing millions of pieces of paper simply stating "You are happy. North Korea make great party. You are not hungry.". According to officials in North Korea the launch was a great success.
Yeah, I mean the UN Security Council is really just a bunch of talking heads pumping out American Propaganda! Not. Yes, that's a not joke. I don't care.
Nuclear weapons for all! As humans we have the natural right to walk around with nuclear weapons sticking our of our pants at attention! Hell, let's send some to Nigeria. How about Nuclear weapon day, where we all paint cute bunnies and write all over them with things like "Human sovereignty, where my nuclear exposition is like way bigger than yours".
Come on bro, there has to be a limit to this kind of right-wing no government bs that you are trying to sell to me for an apocalypse and terrible hat fashions. If you can create a device which threatens humanity, than humanity has a right to band together and deiced not to allow it.

I just out-IE'd IE... It was 7.8 Kurics.

Cute. That's cute. American Football / Soccer jokes! Such a treat and a treasure. Makes me want to scream: Run forest run!
I guess I will comment on this story next week when you re-run it with a different source.

ME: "What time does [movie name] start tonight?"
Siri GFE: "Not until you clean the dishes."

Tomorrows /. article will probably be titled "Forget wasting money on IT, jump into the cloud-wagon". Guys... come on... make up your mind.

How about Audi funds a free class for drivers which teaches them the importance of not running over pedestrians.
The really really really smart car-maker spends 10 seconds to figure out that faking engine noise is a total waste of time and car electricity.

Yeah, but, it's Google and their like evil and stuff. Plus, you try to come up with interesting titles for useless stories!
And, Apple is the new venereal disease. (watch how I get marked as a troll and this poster get's modded up).
You should try out driving in LA. Going the speed limit feels like you are going warp speed compared to the other cars driving 17 in a 35.
