  1. Try asheronscall on Neverwinter Nights Coming in June · · Score: 3, Insightful

    Which beats both these games.

AC has superior online playing features than EQ and BG, The graphics arent as good as EQ but the gameplay is great, it has the most complex spell system, it has a complete class system with monarchism, it has all kinds of enviornments from forrest to mountains covered with snow, weather system with rain effect, snow effects, etc, waterfalls, its just a virtual world.

The tactics come into play when you have diffrent enviornments.

The monsters in AC are very smart, they attack with strategies instead of just random hits

BG had good AI, but it wasnt a multiplayer kinda game, at least not like EQ or AC.

BG is more compareable to diablo, I'd be fine with NWNs being more in the style of diablo, but i'd prefer something bigger so thousands of players can play with each other or at least hundreds

  2. Bulders gate had insane AI on Neverwinter Nights Coming in June · · Score: 2

It was a good game, but the ai was way too dangerous

i want an rpg where the players can either be the monsters, (bad guys) or the good guys.

Player killers could have fun being monsters

Im thinking a game involving vampires would be perfect for this, something like castlevania

  3. The only problem is its size on Neverwinter Nights Coming in June · · Score: 2

Can a few hundred to thousands all play in a world? if so it will be great.

First thing i'd do is let player killer types control the monsters,

why should AI control monsters, and why do people always complain about pks? Would solve both problems.

Second, if the game is truely scriptable, you could create a nice storyline, like diablo.

Right now i dont know enough about neverwinter nights, but if its anything like bulders gate then ill hate it.

If its like diablo or ultima online but with more features, and customizability, then its perfect

Tecmo and AM2 both write their games completely in assembly and thats why their games are as good looking as they are and push the hardware like they do.

Java development? is it a Joke? Only lazy American PC developers would use Java.

    NEWS
IBM, Sony, and Toshiba announced a partnership today in Tokyo to develop new, faster, smaller chips code-named Cell. Over the next 5 years the companies will spend US$400 million to break the 0.10 micron barrier. Cell chips will be targeted for use in high-speed Internet access and network-based computing.

Sony Computer Entertainment (the gaming folks) is the Sony division involved in the partnership, and it already has working arrangements with Toshiba--the two companies formed a joint venture to design and produce the PlayStation 2's chip. Adding IBM to the mix helps all three companies reduce development costs ... and Sony also gets to license IBM's 0.10 micron processing technology, which will probably be used in the PlayStation 3 (PS2 chips are currently at 0.18 and 0.25 microns, though Sony has announced a move to 0.13 micron technology) and other upcoming devices from Sony Computer Entertainment. Development work on the new Cell chips will take place in an Austin, Texas IBM facility and will eventually be produced at a new IBM fab in East Fishkill, New York, slated for completion next year.

IBM will also announce today that it is joining the Extreme Ultra Violet Consortium, another group working to shrink micron processes. Industry watchers think IBM's move may help boost the EUV technology's chances of success.

    1) Nothing is random. Actually logic and science teach you the exact opposite. At a quantum level, everything is random, you don't know if a particular particle will decay at a given moment or not, and as far as science can tell, there is no way of knowing. In larger systems, tiny variables add uncertainty until the system becomes completely unpredictable. We will probably never have accurate 1 year weather forcasts. Theoretically if you knew the position and speed of every particle in the system (note: this is by definition impossible) you could theoretically predict, and perhaps if we knew the exact state of the world at 4 Billion BC, an infinitely powerful computer could predict the outcome of evolution. But since this is unimaginably difficult, the individual events that influence evolution, and the mutations that give it material to work with, are for all intents and purposes "random." *

Quantum Particles arent random at all, we simply dont understand them so they SEEM random.

As for the philosophy of the 1930s or whatever, why should i care what the trend is and what other people think? From my lifes experience i know nothing is for sure, do you know if you'll die tomorrow? Do you know anything for sure? No because anything is possible.

Theres chaos, but even chaos makes sense.
Theres no such thing as random, everything is cause and effect.

Sure theres a chance they could be on our level, theres even the chance we found technologies they didnt find, fact is saying they cant get earth if they are thousands of light years away is a diffrent story.

They can easily get here, we already have ways of how we'd get there, we just dont have the energy, money, and technology to take it out of the labs and off paper.

Theres 6 billion people on earth, now Imagine a planet 1000 times the size of earth, with 200 billion alien lifeforms on it. The pace of evolution and technology increases with the size of the population.

Yes theres infinite possibilities, but if we are searching for life and not finding it, and the universe being in its infinite size, its HIGHLY unlikely that we are the only life in the universe. Its also HIGHLY unlikely that we are the oldest, smartest life in the universe, in fact I'd put us on the lower levels.

15 20 billion year old universe yes, matter in the universe was created in the big bang, but thats it. Before that, there was just space and energy, from what we know, there could be a multiverse which could mean Aliens from trillions of years ago could exsist.

Fact is anything is possible, its just more likely using logic that we arent alone, and that other aliens which were here before us would be superior.
