I know it is expensive, but CF cards have come a long way. pretec just announced a 6GB CF card -- that's right 6GB. Fit 12 GB into one of those little NExII MP3 players or take tens of thousands of pictures. I can't wait until these come down in price (they will!)
What I would like to know is if you are allowed to alter the code so much as you don't have to pay Microsoft anymmore. Let's say I sign up for this program, get the source, delete 99% of the code and start from scratch. Am I still obligated to pay Microsoft?
I feel companies will be forced to pay Microsoft for any product they release with any sort of OS as it _could_ have started with the CE code.

Ug! Why don't people do research before they blindly post. The DVD-R drives burn DVD-R disks that can play in a MUCH greater number of players then a DVD-RW disk.
Here are some compatibility charts:
DVD-R compatibility in DVD standalone players (apple.com)
http://www.apple.com/dvd/compatibility/
DVD-RW compatibility in DVD standalone players (ricoh.com)

Again, people are commenting who are completly misinformed. Blank DVDs (unless you get a double sided disc, which will not be released at least for another month) only can fit 4.7Gb and most movies take up a much greater amount of space then that. None of the current conumer DVD writers can write the dual-density disks, so you are forced to chop out extras, trailers, vocal tracks, etc. Not to mention that you need to DeCSS the disk first. Even with the best software out there currently this is a very time consuming process.
This is complely incorrect. I have a Pioneer DVR-103 which is also known as the DVR-A03 and it burns both DVD-R and DVD-RW media at 2x. This is the same drive that shipped with the Compaqs and Apples. Currently, I am using Nero Burning Rom, but it will burn at 2x in Sonic DVDit, and other DVD applications. Full DVD's only take 26 minutes.

This summer I was employed at a finite element analysis company in Philadelphia, and I designed, budgeted, and built a 10 processor AMD System (Octavian) based on gigabit ethernet, 1.2 Gig MP AMD chips on Tyan mobo's with half a gig of RAM per node, and it did not cost more then $13000 plus some setup time. (This was with a gigabit switch, etc AND the current cost with dropping prices would be less then $10000) The computer was designed to run LS-DYNA (a Livermore software finite analysis program) and it has not let them down.
Here are some benchmarks:

And here is a review of the results:
the cluster is performing BEAUTIFULLY, and we have been crunching problems on it pretty much nonstop since it was brought online. It has really saved our butts, as we could never have met some key project deadlines without the speed. I've included some bechmarking stats below FYI for a contact problem that took only 24 minutes to run on octavian using 10 cpus. The comparable time on our $50K dual CPU octane workstation is 3 hours and 26 minutes, which translates into a speed up of 8.6 times for about 1/5 the cost.
So, What I am trying to say is build the thing yourself. You will know much more about the system, and you will be able to install any software you want to without having to deal with "customer service". Also, it will save you a bundle as a turnkey solution is nearly 3 times the price. (Even if this cluster was built with Myrinet it would still be far less then any of the pre-built solutions) Lastly, design the cluster for what you need. If your problems involves lots of RAM, then spen money there. If CPU is the bottleneck spent money there. If communication is the bottleneck....
Last semester I tried to do exactly what you want to do, and with a team of 4 guys we were able to producs a decent 2D sprite driven game in assembly for the PS2. This however was the only class that we took, and it took up most of our free time.
After living in Japan for the last year you can not believe the success of this show. Just walk down the street in Tokyo and you will see Iron Chef clothing and tidbits in every shop. Many products in the stores are endorsed by "the Iron Chefs" themselves. This show is nothing in America and with a host like Shatner you can be sure that it will be as successful as the Priceline.com ads. The beauty of the show is in the presentation and style that will not come across here in the states. The dubbing at least leves much of the original flavor. Mmmmm... Time to eat!
As a user of the CDDB service through CD Wizard (For windows 95 at the time) I inputed nearly 200+ CDs that were not already in the database, and recently I have been writing a Windows based application and they want to charge me for access to what boils down to my own work? This is the most baseless lawsuit ever. Moreover, the reson they have brough on this lawsuit is because
the storage, retrieval, categorization, and organization of the database, the access interface, and the matching and filtering methods are absolutely proprietary so what have Roxio done wrong against this?
