  1. Re:My first trip to Prague on Technology And The Fast Food Nation · · Score: 4
Here is a quote from http://www.urban75.com/Mag/prague1.html

There are now 10 branches of McDonalds in Prague and one strategically placed on every major road going into the city. There are plans for 40 KFC outlets in the Czech Republic by the end of the year and Coca Cola and Pepsi signs are everywhere. It is impossible to evade their presence.

Would they be put there if the first 4 locations failed? No. McDonalds is not the whole problem, although I will admit it is mostly to blame. But you have to remember that the only reason McDoanlds continues to grow is because of consumers. If people don't buy McDonalds food, there would be no McDonalds. But people like the convenience, the low price and the fact that they know what they are getting. They know exactly what is on a hamburger, what the chicken nuggets will taste like and what kind of sauce they can get.

This is the same thing as a picture I saw of the WTO protests. When you protest in Nikes and Gap clothes, or when you protest McDonalds by only eating there once a week, the problem isn't going to go away. By boycotting a product, you can affect the corporation. But since most people don't care, this is very unlikely to happen..

By making something just a little more difficult do to, you can eliminate alot of the newbies that would try it and succeed. A script kiddie would sit in a parking lot for 10 minutes and try to sniff keyboard traffic (funny thought), but probably wouldn't break into an office.

Exactly! This just proves that in today's society where violence is bad and conflicts must be solved peacefully, people, especially younger people need to get their aggressions out somewhere. We have to remember that we are just animals and need to get violent occasionally. With nothing to fight about in this mostly peaceful world, we need these escape routes to be able to release our violent tendancies on other gamers. We keep demanding better graphics so it looks more realistic and we get more satisfaction out of max gibs.

In other news, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Smith of Slashville discovered that they could actually do the same job as filtering software by spending some time with their children each day.

"It was amazing," Mr. Smith stated, "I could actually sit down with my son and daughter and surf the web TOGETHER. I mean, who would of thought of that!"

Yeah, who would of thunk it! By the time a child is in high school, filtering software is useless, they already know about pr0n and when they are younger, parents can exert more control over what they view on the Internet. This is just another example of the government trying to be a parent because a small minority of parents can't do it themselves and their children end up in the park with a dirty ole man. I know I'll never forgive my parents for that one! :P

Ask your teacher about it or wait a few years because I'm sure they teach this stuff in high school health class. You can learn alot more about it then.

But basically, my comment was about how instead of blurting out wacky comments and curse words, common in Tourette's, the author instead pinched off a comment without really thinking about it. Instead of verbal it was typed.
