I am pretty sure that the real way that the MPAA / RIAA / etc rate countries on how much piracy is going on is by how much MPAA / RIAA butt the countries kiss. The more butt kissing, the less piracy. Pass laws the MPAA / RIAA write, and you get a free pass.
Uhm, so, I believe a lot of the ocean depths are supposed to be sterile, because of a lack of oxygen, and extreme cold (cold enough to freeze methane). But every time scientists send an exploratory vehicle to the deepest bottom of the ocean, they find large, multicellular life crawling around and swimming around. So I think maybe the problem of some scientists saying 12% or whatever is actually a misunderstanding of science and statistics on their part, not a lack of life. I do not believe we can find large, multicellular life anywhere that small, unicellular life does not exist. Just plain bad assumptions on their part, and bad thinking. I personally believe the earth is saturated with bacteria, plankton, etc, everywhere.

That would include all the world's literature, and all the newspapers, magazines, etc. If you include pictures, maybe significantly more. Part of the Data problem is tons of data which has not been analyzed. Of the analysis could keep up with the data collection rates, then no problem. And no zetabytes needed, either.
Where did the asteroids get their organics? Are they saying that they formed on the asteroids? Then how would that stuff ride the asteroid to earth? Doesn't the whole asteroid burn up on reentry? If it was a msb type bit in the accelerator position, then yes, acceleration. except that the bit would unflip right away because of pedal position update. Or if it was some engine feedback msb, again, yes, temporary acceleration, but again, only for a short time. Updates happen constantly. About EMI/EMC/RFI - the modules have been shielded and protected since day one against that. The engine is a very high disturbance environment in may ways. Sparks, for instance. The ECMs have been in almost all American cars since before 1980, because of the 1975 car air pollution reduction act Congress passed. The only way cars could meet the pollution restrictions was through ECMs. So If we have ECMs since nearly forever, and only just now one manufacturer has a bit flip problem? I don't think so. And these modules do not use the latest super-small feature processor technology. They use older temperature-resistant tech, Much larger features, far more radiation-resistant. No, the most likely problem is either a software routine with a bug, no error handler, or similar issue, or a mechanical,problem (less likely).
In a Democracy, you get to vote on who represents you in government. You get to vote on some issues which will cost you taxpayer dollars, and you get to vote on some other issues. This does not mean you get what you want. In a software democracy, you would get to vote on who represents you on decision-making on software appearances, abilities, and changes. You would still not automatically get what you want. In open source, you can change software behavior and appearances only if you have the knowledge and ability to. And that new tree would not be automatically updated with fixes and changes to the old tree. So you still do not automatically get what you want. If you do not have the ability to program in the right language, you do not even get to try to get what you want. Open source is not a right or entitlement. At all levels, you have to work for it, to at least some extent.

I dated a girl who was a bank teller. She told me that she felt she deserved nice clothes, so she would keep some of the deposits. After $2,000 or so, the bank would catch her and let her go (not get their money back). No report to the police, nothing. Since her only job skill was bank teller, she would just get a job at a different bank... $25M was reported to the feds, but how much went unreported?
