The switching power supplies DO create lots of crap up to a MHz or two, inside the DVD player. The electrolytics he suggests won't help too much in cleaning the higher frequency noise, but it will help with droop. He just gets over the top - the special capacitors he recommends could be replaced by some common higher grade components. I would expect that you would get a big improvment the bypassing on the DAC (replace the crappy capacitors with some NP0 grades).

All in all, you could probably get 95% of his improvements for 10% of the cost, but you won't have as much BS in your sound.

Oh, and Putin in Russia sure isn't an upstanding member of the democratic club. Hell, China isn't either (look at what they are doing to Tibet). Ok, how about Cuba?
Taking out those countries is a bit too complicated, huh?

Stop with the BS arguments about how Sadaam was so evil. You are simply a TOOL. Go and join the Army if you are so sure it is the right thing. Oh, and the actual number of US soldiers dead is more like 5000, not 1700 (if you are on a plane out of Iraq to a hospital in Germany and you die, then you didn't die in Iraq).

The WMDs was war story 1.0, and now war story 2.0 is democracy for Iraq. The Iraq war is completely, and totally, an unjustified war for some of America's interests.

Because if you keep screwing over the poor people (why do the poor get screwed over? simple - they have nothing to lubricate the process).

With such a combination, people (usually poor people) don't get screwed over, and there are incentives to make their life better.

Too much communism, like modern France, and you don't quite have enough to pay for everything necessary.

No - XP is way slower. And even after turning off mickymouseOS interface, it still is inferior to 2K.

One example - when I want to delete something, I select it with the mouse, press delete, then enter (for the confirmation). On 2K, you can do it around .5sec, no problem. But on XP, the comes too soon, and suddenly I'm opening the document I just wanted to delete, and then here comes the delete confirmation. What a pain. The solution on XP - wait 2 seconds after hitting delete to hit enter. A great example of the interface getting in the way.

Another XP complaint - plug in a usb HD - it scans the whole drive and want to know what to do with it. What a pain.

Wait, there's more - I have a directory with ~1000 mp3s (it's something like my personal radio station). Opening it in XP takes 5secs! In NT it opens as fast as any other folder.

XP is simply 2K with more annoying stuff added.

Ants are notorious for theft from picnics, for example.

There are plenty of other examples which display that ants do not operate according to any moral code that humans would view as acceptable (unless genocide is something that you have no problem with).

As for the intellegence of ants, well, I link their ability to solve problems (e.g. their food searching methods) to their ability to engage in abstract thought. I also am weighting their very limited size brains. Based on all of those factors, I do not give ants any sort of deep though capability.
