Considering that the only decent DVR software is Windows Media Center, and that adds a premium to building HTPCs, system builders will be anxious to give this a shot. One the pay-offs if this is a hit is that people will be forced to try out Ubuntu and may boost familiarity amongst a greater number of users.
Perhaps developers would try out WP8 development, if installing the SDK didn't break your VMWare installation.

Lol, this is the true definition of frugality. Would you purchase a new computer with a newer version of Windows on it?
This is a risky move. Even after people purchase these at a discounted rate, will their interest be prolonged enough to create customer loyalty?
