Aerotech reloads are a peice of (&^@$#@. That is why Frank made them change how they were making them. Now, some of Franks original reloads are great, but if you have any better fly them soon.
God Bless Men and their Rockets.
But t ton of "old" notebooks ( You can get cheap 900 Mhz machines) nad stack those into a cabinet.... more cpu, more disk.. and a console for every server. What? You say power and heat problem... hey, no worse than what this product looks to have.
We are forgetting the obvious... how much would a company like X10 pay Microsoft for a Smart Tag on a simple character like a or worse... e? Imagine the new surfing experience then.... and we thought it was getting annoying now!
With the older cards you could buy a PCI bus extender and use it to start the basics for a PC. Add a PCI video card and use the onboard IDE. Works OK from my past experiance.
With the newer cards ( No IDE onboard) you are SOL.. sorry...
On the bright side, you can always put them into a Sun PCI machine (Ultra5 works great) and run it there... works great as a firewall if you do not want to put ipfilter on Solaris. Or, a GREAT way to mess with the NT guys in your office... "Heu guys look, Sun now has an exchange server..."
For some atleast... Some RBOCs have had this for years. I have had Ethernet into my house from the local RBOC since I moved in. The problem isn't the technology, but the dollar$ involved. How do companies make money at $45 a month for this service? I know that Bellsouth does not even come close to breaking even with their IFITL service, and that is after selling cabel over the same wire.
Books will always exist, there is something special about holding the book in your hands while reading it. Now what would be interesting
is the digital paper in a book, you would only need one "book" to read thousands of books.
Almost not worth replting to... but....
Linux is generally refered to as the entire distribution, not just the kernel. If you would not just RTFM but look inbetween the lines you wouldn't be quite so picky.
I know there are othe package managment packages for Linux, but you need to learn more about the other Unix/Unix Like OSes out there.
For example, AIX has a great packaged system, that tells you EVERY file that would be touched and provides a great roleback technology that works...
My point is that there is more to 'Nix technology that one Kernel and distribution tree....
If it is a Sun package you can look into the package and see what it does. Look for the preinstall and postinstall scripts for "goodies".
You can also do the same with RPMs but it is a little harder.
One place where Sun is a little better than Linux IMHO.
Like this should really surprise any of use... now what's cool is to intercept the signal and control someons's mouse and keyboard remotely... Imagine the fun when your coworker surfs to a site that they didn't type in.
Well sorta... celphones do let the people in power track where you are... and with the right equipment, you can narrow it down to a few inches.
And for those of you that think you are safe with a pager... guess again.
How many "kids" have a cell phone... or pager?
At work I've been able to get some of our MCSE Gates clones to switch to Linux and Gnome using Mandrake. They tried RedHat but complained about it being too difficult. I hope Mandrake can solve their problems and get some product on the shelf, and developers on the keyboards soon.

Tripoli cert works well to :-)
When the Kernel supports the chips... then I'll look into buying them.
All we need, someone teaching more folks how to send spam.
Ditto

Wimpy AeroTech? Naw... try a REAL motor.

If they got so rich from hardware... why did the hardware unit loose so much money?

Hey wind bag.... get better with the puns... ok?
It's because of people like this, that companies like MidiMan exist. Great Linux sound/midi card from these folks.

So, would this also kill carnivore? Billions of R&D dollars wasted because a cop can't keep his high-tech camera... what a shame! :-)

What I want to know, is where is Bill Gates and Microsoft in this deal? Will this new technology require the use of MSN and XP?

Well, we run a 24x7 shoppe.... every try to PCAnywhere into a 2k box over a vpn or modem... now try to ssh... 'nuff said?

Image all the fun you would have setting off security allerts on firewalls and intrusion detection devices... Hey guys... back to the lab... OK?
But will it take the new fscking dollar coin?

hehehe Anyone ever hear of a 8000 node NT cluster? I think not!
