I was told over a year ago, that the great domains were already gone. So, to prove a point, I went a grabbed a "good" domain. My wife now runs a small profitable dotcom using the name...
First, I don't like the censorship, but I could understand a memo asking stations to be considerate of the situation. Now that has been said, why ban the Bangles "Walk Like an Egyptian"?
Ask ANY software developer... he (or she) played with LEGOs, and learned how easily things fall apart when not put together properly. If it wasn;t for LEGO, would we have LINUX?

Why new cubes... thought by 2000 we would be working from home?
This thing costs 1.2 Million dollars! Image what I could build with 1.2 million in cheap clone hardware... I think I could do at least twice as much processing, and include the pop/imap servers.
Even better is that while IBM might be the first, it will be companies like Sun that make it work for everyone. Look at 64bit CPUs. All of Sun's servers re 64bit, and IBM still pushes out 32bit machines as "low end" RISC machines.
Instead of arguing about which dist is better, why not spend time showing people why NOT to user windows on servers. I've seen hours of research done over just this topis... image what we (/.) could do IF we focused on Gates of Borg instead?
Does it matter that much if one dist was based on another? And if you are going to complain about that, atleast spend the time to get the facts straight.
Why do you people have problems with bad information about spy satellites! We are talking about spy satellites here. You do know what spy means?
spy (sp) v. intr.
To engage in espionage.
To seek or observe something secretly and closely.
To make a careful investigation: spying into other people's activities.
How can you have a spy satellite if everyone knows where it is?
Surprised? No one should be... it's not like most encryption can with stand the test of time. Remember when DES was thought to be impossible to break? What I want to see is a real time SSL and PGP decode hack.
Why do you pay $40 for a new game? From reading this it sounds like the PC game companies should be paying us to play their games! Imagine if Blizzard payed you $10 to get a Diablo character killed, and $20 if you kill Diablo?
I'm with Bellsouth, and get PPPeO. Other than a few problems with the Ethernet out of the box it wirks. I get a new IP every 24 hours... and no chance of static IP. I wish I could get an "enhanced" service for $65 a month, and get a bridged service with a small segment (/29 maybe).
For SBC folks that are complaining... it could be worse.
No really.... look at the RISC vs CISC threads. Also, you need to compare the rest of the system design. I'll put a 300Mhz Ultra SPARC II in a old e250 up against a 1.4 GHz PC as an email server any day... the e250 will blow the pants off of the PC.

But they kept Outlaw Star? I'm not complaining, but this makes no sense?
Microsoft has done worse... look at the city governments and schools that they have gone after.

Great... $500 for the OS and $1,200,000 for the hardware... Did you read past the link?
I think I'll stick with Intel based machines for now. Much better for ANY budget.

Another false alarm from our 'friends' at Redhat. Tired of these... then switch to Mandrake .

OpenSSH on Solaris 8 was easy... You probally didn't RTFM. Were you running EGD? Did you use the correct make and C compiler?
