also by starting with a homebrew system a lot of knowlege is gathered in research which really can help you avoid the gotchas if you eventually go to a commercial system instead.
Well let's say it's an alleged crime that has caused damages to multiple levels of victims, one of which has sued the alleged perpetrater of the crime for civil damages and has won a default judgement and is seeking hidden assets it belives are in the posestion of the perpetraters parents posibley without their knowlege. If the assets are found you can bet the attorney general will be thinking millions of dollars in assets left, millions of spam emails sen, criminal penalties of $500.00 per Email, we gotta get this Hawke guy before the next election.

It is assumed that the packets will be routed differently some will get to you quickly by a short route, some will get there slowly through a convoluted route, some may not get to you at all and have to be resent. The result is slashdot.org can only talk to 16K different computers at the same time period; by have connections persist in an idle state, new users will be denied service do to the lack of available ports.
and probably checks for common contaninants and by products of explosive manufacture as well as decomposison products of explosives. Which means false alarms will probably be less frequent than most of us will assume.

For me for a search engine to turn over search queries is serious breach of confidence; I could never use Yahoo, MSN, or AOL for anything beyond trivial searches now, and I only use yahoo for yellowpages skimming at work.

actuatly I'd think connecting a drive chain to a wheel that steers would be the real show stopper. the only way arround that would be to use a drive shaft feed down through the forks, like a handelbar stem. You'd almost need a split handlebar so each hand could steer each wheel independantly, that means you can't use the handlebars for body support; now we're talking recombent. What you'd have would definately be unique.
I just got this real crazey image of this monopod robot jumping up a flight of stairs like a one legged man. Maybe they should put an warning devices that sounds "boink, bionk bionk" so people would be aware of the possibility of robots crashing down the stairs.
Parents are responsible for their kids, sucks but true. We had a kid that was a stuborn, rebelious, durnkard who like to destroy property while he trying to drink himself to death. Everything we tried failed so finaly we had him legaly emancipated at 15 years old; which made him responsible for his own actions. He's 35 now, still pissed about the emancipation, missing a kidney but otherwise starting to do pretty well. His son is starting to do a lot of the things his dad did at his age, funny how that works.
it's not the states fault these wankers hired shoddy representation; the penal system is for criminals not the innocent! After these clowns finally get off the government dole what do they do, they sue for false imprisonment and lost wages that's what. If they're getting paid their normal wages having reasonable amounts of room and board deducted doesn't seem so bad now does it?
Hell you want to know where people really get screwed it the US, get thrown in a US prison you're paid $0.28 an hour to work, medical care has a $3.00 co-pay, child support can take all but $7.00 a month, and they can charge you room and board even if your guilty, not to mention restitution and "victim's rights fund" hell we even have to pay for the parole officer's time!!
