I have used iPods with the dock-connector, the original iPhone and every iPhone and iPad up to the iPhone 5s now. I collected a pile of chargers and cables and they all are used, still. I'm sure that the charger of my very first iPhone is used everyday. There is no better investment into cables and chargers I have made within the last decade. Similar, but not as good, with the Powerbooks. Most of the chargers have had a very long life, and my very first Magsafe-Charger is still in use, daily. I have no use for the original Powerbook Charger anymore, though.
I own an assorted set of non-Appe tablets (currently Thinkpad T2, Nexus 7) and from daily use (they are fine devices for some uses) I'm very confident to have gathered enough datapoints to say:
"mini/micro-USB2/3 for a mobile phone or tablet on the device-side sucks. It's stupid and clumsy and everybody arguing that Apple should go USB (on the phone) is stupid, too, and most likely does not own such a device but just want's cover up a pychological deficite. Micro-USB-3 is just a really pathetic joke."
Don't force my to use the shit that you consider sufficient and I promise to keep quiet and use my chargers for years over years.
And you get some history lessons for free: Das Ding = thing, gender neutral Das Baby = baby, gender neutral Das Kleinkind = small child, gender neutral
Das MÃdchen = girl, gender neutral Der Junge = boy, masculine
Das FrÃulein = unmarried woman, gender neutral Die Frau = married woman, feminine Der Mann = unmarried or married man, male
You see the pattern:-)
Nowadays calling a woman "FrÃulein" is mostly considered rude, though:-)
Isn't it funny that a lot of people reading and discussing this submission are only capable of doing so because they learned a foreign language at school?
So they can take away whatever they want without proving you guilty in due process just because? Wow. This is about the most ridiculous and frightening thing I read in a while and I would have expected it to happen in China (sorry, my predjudices) and not in the US. Wow, again.
What a remarkable person she was, what a beautiful couple you have been. And what a remarkable person you still seem to be! I sincerley hope that some day soon you'll give somebody else the chance of getting close to you. Because otherwise it would be a loss to that person and that does not really seem fair to me:-)
So how do you get a date to make the "right" impression if the fist impression is that you are not even interested in finding / taking a decent picture of yourself?
> The problem is that photos, generally, look less attractive than people do in real life,
Sorry, but this is nonsense and only valid if you do not spend enough time on choosing / making the right pictures. Yourself and the one reading your profile deserve your passion to finding the right picture and text. And maybe ask some friends of the gender your interested in whether the picture you like most of yourself really is THE picture to use as a first impression:-)
Whenever I read something like this it makes me wonder what "plausible" software is the means of infection. I may be naive but I can not imagine that any of the companies and individuals I install stuff of on my machines would be shady enough.
What stupid stuff from what shady source do I have to install to get a Bitcoin-Miner I didn't ask for?
"You have most likely all the resources to be an attractive person for a group of people large enough to find some corresponding most significant other(s)."
I consider it highly unlikely that you need plastic surgery to do so. Your nose is not what keeps you a from finding a partner, online or offline.

This sounds funny. From my experience many people I consider being quite above average visual attractiveness are attracted to decent Average Joes/Janes - if they are interesting, do stuff, learn interesting things, are caring, etc pp... Even musicians, actors/actresses and models.
However, (Miss|Mister)-US-Of-Dumbnut may be only attracted to each other, but that's natures way keeping the carnage to the gene-pool low.
> The task was simple. Make a friggin website that takes user input and spits out insurance options. > If this happened where I work, they'd fire the whole lot without question.
The task was complex because it involved a huge pile of laws, partisanship and legacy systems.
An essential step to avoid failing is firing people with your sentiment.

Some more knowledge on the most enigmatic mechanisms we still do not really understand. Maybe this will reveal new variables we can access to influence our physical world. All of your modern life is based on those variables, most have not been known half a century ago, some not even a decade ago. Yet they made possible - for example - this TB harddisk you are using.
Now please leave the Web as it was invented at CERN as a completely unintended consequence but necessity of boldly doing experiments of a size nobody had ever done before.
Did you stop CPR when you put your father in the car? If he didn’t need CPR when you departed - what would you have done if he needed CPR in your car on the way? So that’s - worst case - 8 Minutes without Pulse? Or “only” about 3 Minutes while racing to the hospital plus 1 Minute (best case) until treatment?
Seriously: If your living close to civilization do CPR while waiting AT HOME for the ambulance so they can pick up from there and TREAT the person while going to the hospital. If you drive yourself while your father needs CPR his brain will be damaged within in the 5 Minutes you need to get to the hospital.
Driving recklessly with somebody dying in your car when you could easily have learned CPR does not make a hero or a good son. Learn CPR as a gift to your loved ones. And watch #theUndeading
The freedom of yelling “Heil Hitler” and powerlessly shaking a fetishized assault rifle until you die of some non-insured premature condition soon will be the only thing left. Sad.
The quality of German tapwater is highly monitored and thus the water usually is microbially and chemically at least as clean as bottled water. There is dispute whether it is even monitored/better/ than bottled water. The risk of contaminating it with a filter is way higher than drinking it directly from the tap. You might have some issues with lead piping in old houses if you have soft water, though.
Concerning taste YMMV, some places have harder water, some temporary add some chlorine after heavy rain, but usually it's tasty. Over all your warning is complete bollocks.

Maybe you could get rid of history, too.
I mean, it's not a job skill - what job do you need history for?
Isn't it funny that a lot of people reading and discussing this submission are only capable of doing so because they learned a foreign language at school?
Brilliant, so American tourists visiting Jacarta are at least able to speak Java, now.
and that's though I'm quite a fan and usually consider your writing quite insightful.

I guess that's true if one's still living in your mothers basement...

I should have understood the article, first.
From the article it seems to be

Well, who would not want to install an application that redirects all of their network traffic though their servers FOR FREE?
