The pre changes listed are 2.4.1preX changes. Everything listed on that page are things that changed from 2.4.0 to 2.4.1, so no, you'll get more than one change.
I think he realizes that.
His point was that toll free calls are charged to the operator of the line. He'll keep calling it, and the guy who owns the line will get charged for the calls.
XFree just keeps getting better and simplier to config (xf86cfg is great for the first version) and in particlar many thanks to Keith Packard for the wonder render
Nevermind xf86cfg, have you tried "X -configure"? Spits out a usable X configuration file. You then just make whatever changes you want to it.
I actually installed plex86 exactly for this. I was attempting to create a bootable CD for a particular function, and I wanted to BOOT the ISO before burning it so I wouldn't waste disks.
I took a longshot that this would be supported, and I ended up losing out.
I've never used linux on a mac before, but here's something to look for:
I believe Linux PPC is based on Redhat. Redhat likes leaving default config files in/usr/src/linux/configs. If that directory exists on your machine, copy one of the configs there into/usr/src/linux, and run a make oldconfig to just update the config options that have changed.
If that dosen't work, maybe someone else has an idea.
The difference is, USB was not backported by Linus or Alan. It was backported by someone who wanted to get their USB devices working properly without waiting for 2.4 to come out.
Who says they would have worked on other components of 2.4 if they hadn't been working on this? They were scratching their paritcular itch.
I think this would end up going to end being something that every journalist will want/need. No more worrying about people confisgating your film after you take a picture that someone didn't want you to see. Just take the picture, and have it automatically upload it to a server somewhere.
Of course there's the other side of it. Trying to work security when there's someone out there with something like this.
THANK YOU!
I was trying to figure out why it looked like such crap!
Or you're setting up an onboard computer in your car, and you want to be able to control it by talking while you drive... :)
I'd agree with your argument if you put NT 4.0 instead of Windows 98.
Windows 98 and Windows 2000 are not even in the same class of operating systems.
I wouldn't expect to see a DRI module anytime soon. At least not one that works as well as NVidia's own 3D accelleration for XFree86 4.0.
I'm assuming you mean 2.2.16?
2.2.14 was included in Redhat 6.2, not 7.0

Nah, I'm still here.
A company called Tera recently purchased Cray, and renamed itself to Cray.
The former supercomputer company is now actually a division of a company called cray, who most likely has other products, including this.
Probably not. ;)
All the pixmap-centric bloat has probably been broken off into libraries that technically aren't part of Enlightenment
Redhat 7.0 dosen't include the 2.4 kernel.
Redhat 7.0 is 2.4 READY.
Helixcode gives you a list of download sites. Which are you choosing?
I think he realizes that.

From what the links there said, you need to turn off PCI power management, and use the alsa drivers.
But you don't have to worry about hidden trojans in binaries that aren't released. That kind of makes it a moot point.
Either they release it, and have to release the code, or the don't release it, and you dont' have to worry.

I think he's referring to the fact that plex86 requires a linux kernel module to be loaded before it will work.
FreeBSD on x86 cannot load this module, and so it will not work.

The math co processor was onboard during the 386DX as well. That was the difference between the DX and the SX.
They released the 386 with the co processor onboard, then removed and and sold the SX as a cheaper model.
The did the same thing with the 486, releasing DX and SX models of them as well.
Hmm.
Or I could just be wrong.
I checked the specs on the website. It appears to be dialup. I'm guessing there's a modem built into this thing.
All they need now is a built in wireless modem.

I could be wrong (and offtopic), but I thought the 386DX came out first, and then Intel lobotimized it and released the SX?
It was also suggested to be Multics without balls.
