Well, if it is in ASCII, it saves bandwidth, but you lose A LOT of detail. If an ASCII is 8-bit, why not simply use a 255 color gray scale? That would be the same amount of data, but would look better! D'oh. Useless, but still, this is pretty cool!
Does anyone see a loophole here?

A lot of the spam you recieve may not be unsolicited.
Be careful. Everytime you "submit" info on the web, read the privacy policy. What if this company says that it may give your eMail to some list? Then you will have solicited the spam unknowingly. Even though you are on the "opt-out" list, that will only block spam that can not be justified. I think that spammers will have little trouble making their spam "solicited".
But it is a start, anyway.
How likely would it be that M$Office were created for LINUX. I mean, if the interests of M$ apps and M$ OS were truly segregated, it would then be in the best interest of The M$ Office developers to develop for Linux. Of course, if it were not free, would Linux people buy it? I don't see myself shelling out the money.
Where did they arrive at 5 billion for 7 people?
It seems to me that the amount awarded should not be an amount so large that the 'victim' would have willingly been a victim for that price.
I can tell you now, for that amount of money, I would go once more through all prejudice short of physical violence that I have experienced in my lifetime.
I see greed sprawled across the table. Both sides.
This is not meant to be patriotic. I am not particularly PROUD to be an American. But I enjoy being one.
Say what you want about levels of freedom, and such things.
It all boils down to this:
I live in the States, and I am happy here.
As far as US class goes, I am poor/low-class/blue-collar. Still, I am happy. I feel free to do as I choose, and have never been stopped from doing so.
All other things constant, I think the amount of freedom that I am given by my country is quite reasonable considering what my country gives to me. I pay taxes, and though I wish that the money could be spent more wisely (and often less selfishly), the returns are good, and a good amount of my money is working.
Note that I do not mention HOW the things I am thankful for arrive at my door. I am aware that the US does many things that I do not approve of.
I am just saying that I enjoy the life I have.
It is very common for people to hate Americans. I have seen it often. In fact, it is often trendy for AMERICANS to rant about how much the country sucks. It is also common for foreign people to complain about how America sucks, while they are employed in America.
I think that this is a good thing. It is a fine freedom to be able to complain, for often it only brings improvement. I do not often complain, but am happy that we have the right to do so. All things could use improvement.
LIV TYLER... EEEW. I hope that I can ignore her and still enjoy the Movie. I know that it will be great anyway.
Why did they have to go and do that, anyway?
I still trust that PJ will do a great job, but just thinking of that girl makes my stomach twist.
I think that she ruined Pluncket and McClaen (SP?)
Is this a NEW trailer, or is it the same one that has been out since May on lordoftherings.net? I guess that TolkienOnline must have been Slashdotted. If this is a new trailer, might someone put a link to a copy of it?
Man, Stonekeep was cool.
I know that it is not that old, and perhaps not very influential, but it rocked(still rocks)!
I think more people should make games like Stonekeep. I lost my copy, though I still have the novel it came with. I still need to read that thing.
It was all about Oregon Trail baby.
I used to play this in school when I should have been learning to type.
Hunt to survive!
Dare you ford the river?
Oh yeah, that's what I am talking about.
If it were not for this computer game, I would not have known anything beyond Atari.
Well, they DO own the machines. They can filter out whatever they want. I am sure that this is mentioned in any terms of service agreement.
I don't like it, but it IS a church, and at least they are offering this service. I supppose that they may have mind-controlling motives, but that's as is has been for centuries. What can ya do? What can ya do?
Now, I like porn like the next guy!!
But I can think of a few people that would prefer to be on a filtered web. These people are missing out on the internet because they are afraid of running across some 'bad' stuff! I mean, I know that I am capable of surfing the web without running into any of this, but others are not so sure.
Of course, it is a shame that perfectly 'healthy' sites will be unfairly filtered.
I am curious how the filtering is done.
Does it filter content? Does it block certain IPs or domains? I think that this would tempt me to try to find a 'loophole'.
Actually, I can not blame the crappiness of Episode I on bad writing and acting. I mean, that is part of what makes 'A New Hope' so classic. That underground water villiage looked dumb. Jar Jar was a jerk. That is what made it suck.
I DID think that Tatooine was fun, though. If that little boy didn't flub it up. He was kind of lame. Actually, he did not have a great script to work with either. Oh hell, who am I kidding? I still bought the action figures.
Has anyone else seen the ad for
Evil Dead: Hail to the King?
It was on during the DUNE break.
It was GREAT!
I now know what it would be like to hhave Bruce Campbell chasing me down a suburban neighborhood!
I was wondering if anyone can point me to this ad online.
I agree with what is being said here, and have so for some time.
Of course, there is a cost involved to the record companies in manufacturing, and they should profit off of duplicate copies. Though, the user should be allowed to make their own personal copies however they see fit.
Is there a possible loophole for the record companies?
What if they take this approach:
Buy this piece of physical media (the actual CD, and not the music), and recieve the rights to the music for personal consumption for free!
That way, they do not have to send duplicates for free or reduced price, since the physical media would cost 14.99.
This, to me would seem sneaky and fairly absurd.
But would it hold? I hope not, but it is all about money, isn't it?

lordoftherings.net Man, Why is this such a big deal? I downloaded this trailer in May. Is there something new that I don't know about?
