send the spammers hundreds of core dumps or other text files, things of annoyance. in a single email message body. for those who are stupid enough to spam from a real email address.
why only seattle and puget sound? what kind of package security are they shipping these things in? they must be pretty worried about the postal workers discovring what they are and hijacking a unit for themselves? strange. but i would imagine Microsoft is going through great lengths to make sure these arrive at the selected testers houses without fail. which is more than we can say about some of their products. but if this game system is good, i don't have any problems picking one up, providing it's affordable and a good value for the dollar. if they end up doing this well, then power to the x-box! but i still don't really like windows. hehe
(i can see it now.. icq message from CmdrTaco... so you're the one who's been posting those.. your ip has been logged, you will be assimilated. muahahaha..)
heh.
*clears throat.. eeehhhhrrrrmm..*
anyways.
if AMD did become the primary supplier of chips this holiday season, they need to make sure they will be able to supply all the hardware that people will want to buy, otherwise we'll have people turned off to computers in general, when they find they can't buy what they want. The personal computer is more popular today than ever before, so this will probably be an issue for all major chip companies. reading down a bit, this seems to be just with hp, so it's not as bad, but tarnishes Intel's image a bit just the same.
On a more interesting note, it would be nice to see the fledgling computer users not just going straight to aol, but instead we might be able to foster some sort of creativity in them, and their responsibility to society with their new tool for productivity and leisure, so they aren't just dedicating the processor to sending Fwd: Fwd: Fwd : This is soo cute! type emails consistently. It would be nice to see an increase in websites that actually have content, and for that matter are interesting, new, and exciting. A processor is a terrible thing to waste. (Even if it is a {P4... hehe... )
today i see a commercial for msn high speed internet access... has this proposed deal gone through already? or are they rolling this out with their own infrastructure?
i wonder how my bandwidth will be different if this goes through. i have roadrunner at the moment in southern california, consistent 300k/s
(not kbps) capability. if lucky, 500 or so on ftp's such as linuxberg. i would imagine an influx of msn users loading up those silly webpages with animated teddybears and such, mucking up the bandwidth quite a bit. roadrunner service might become more restrictive, or adapt some horrible system like MSN explorer. *Cringe*
i can't see how this is beneficial as of yet.
heh.
