I'll not go to an ISP which doesn't ask for my ID when I enter(atleast for the first few times)
i'd make sure they ask for your ID every time. and make sure that they have some way of verifying you or whoever is still working for the company. no use having a server there and 24/7 access if that sleazy other tech gets in the day he's fired, says he's replacing the server and never returns..."but he showed id..." "Leave the gun, take the canoli."
yes, it was when she was 16 or 17, so it got taken off her record when she turned 18. it won't come up at all in a background check unless maybe the gov't does it...plus, it was in a different state from where she lives now.
In their industry, not checking for something as simple as Social Security numbers to match has GOT to be negligent.
maybe not (well, it is, but maybe not against the law), they probably would have been given her name and birthdate and maybe her SSN. i've got access (publicdata.com) and can't tell you how many times i've looked up a person, and only knowing one or two things to begin with can limit what you find out for sure. they could just be telling the company that was hiring that "a person named jane doe has a conviction for this. since this name matches it may or may not be the same person. please hand us some money."
i think in arkansas it's a felony if you're going over twice the posted limit, not too easy on a highway, but supposedly they get you coming through in school zones...i know this because i dated a girl who had a felony and this was it. i was a little disappointed...
i think that most shooters (for rifles at least) shoot at a particular distance on a regular basis so their scopes/sights are calibrated to give them a correct sighting at that particular distance. the only corrections they have to make IIRC is for windage.
there was a story last year I think about a kid who wore a Coke shirt on a day when Pepsi was going to take a picture of the school wearing Pepsi shirts (or something like that, and it may have been a kid who wore a Pepsi shirt..). the kid got suspended, but not before the other company awarded him with free drinks and stuff... "Leave the gun, take the canoli."
would they look after them though? I mean it might be one thing to help them get off the island if there were a giant tidal wave coming or something, but since there's been shots exchange (at least I think they fired on a UK boat once) would the UK maybe decide not to do anything if someone attacked? Or are they maybe like the little sister you hate but you'll stop older kids from beating her up? "Leave the gun, take the canoli."
yeah, it's better to wake and find your book fell on the floor than it is to wake and find your laptop fell on the floor... "Leave the gun, take the canoli."
i work with smart cards, and i must say the readers are very portable. the one i have is a little bigger than the card itself, and uses one AAA battery (which lasts forever). it easily fits in a shirt pocket, and is a lot less bulky than even a PalmV...of course i don't have any place to use it, but if i did i'd carry it around all the time... "Leave the gun, take the canoli."
i have a bank checking card, have never signed the back of it, and have never been asked for my ID. I was amazed (after all i'd been told about how secure it would be) that no one would check to make sure i was really the right person.
on another note, the other day i went to cash my paycheck at the bank it was drawn on. i whipped out my two forms of ID, my drivers license and my SS card. d@mn if the teller doesn't tell me that the SS card isn't a valid form of ID and then proceeded to ask if i had maybe a business card instead....ug... i know on the digital cable STARZ channels they sometimes show anime, one i remember especially is Gunsmith Cats. (anime? thougt it was anyway)...
then there was another one i remember, but i don't know the name of it...had a group of pilots flying spaceships battling alien beings...something like that anyway.. "Leave the gun, take the canoli."
yeah, on the major interstate i travel on daily i average about 30-40 MPH, but when i get off onto the back roads (super-secret shortcut) I can get well over the 45mph speed limit, usually cruising around 60mph... "Leave the gun, take the canoli."
I think that as long as the general public doesn't have a clue about newsgroups except maybe through deja.com, the studios will not throw too much of a fit. instead they'll complain about napster and DVD copying... "Leave the gun, take the canoli."

yeah, the same user who sent an email to everyone in our group about this virus also opened it. This despite three emails and a personal phone call to each from me explaining what NOT to do and what would happen if they did it....(sigh) "Leave the gun, take the canoli."
ok, who does this, huh? the same people who click 20 times to open an email cause they have so much sh!t open. Then they wonder why they have so many copies of it open...they don't know how many times to click when they are told to "double-click". "Leave the gun, take the canoli."
hmmm...going just by ip address, it would take 480 hours at 10k keystrokes per minute. to do it in one 8-hour day that would take 60 people...wow... "Leave the gun, take the canoli."
not to mention the fact that most of the "blondes" aren't really...
