"I work for a major fortune 500. We're locked into XP at the moment, and from the looks of things, I see no reason that this is going to change anytime within the next 5 or 6 years. We have significant investment under XP, and all of our current in-house applications are written and tuned for XP."
I'm in the exact same situation. However, MS has announced the end date for XP support and security updates is now less than two years away... I know they want to kill it off because its continued use negatively impact their income stream. Yet, it is not our fault that ll the follow-on products have seriously sucked (Apologies to Win 7 which sucks less).
If only we could force 5 more years of XP support.
It is their sandbox. They don't share. they don't play well with others. They don't have to. They are Apple. What kind of an expert are you if you don't know the difference between a computer company and a religion?
I'm not much of a Twitter user, but even an old fart such as myself can see that spammers destroy everything in their path. Good luck to Twitter and thanks for having a big enough pair to go after these Twits.
Well, they have certainly been electronic bullies far longer than Righthaven was, so perhaps their eventual down fall will be even more spectacular. We can only hope!
Come to think of it, they have been amazingly quiet since Righthaven got taken to the judicial woodshed.
I suspect, if this effort is successful, it won't be long after that some misguided government or social entity tries to mandate its use. A pox on their houses!
I wonder how many techology companies are going to instruct their legal staffs to give Yahoo the ultimate anal probe with an eye towards brining them down.
Revenge is a dish best served cold.

Someday I'll figure out how to put a pithy saying in this space.
Even if someone decides to enter S&E career fields, there are very few real jobs offered by real employers -- it is much easier to use "this gun is for hire" contractors that you can REALLY abuse and dump with few consequences.

I'm celebrating being the rainer, rather than the rainee.

The Kennedy clan, in the lower 48, fought them because they damaged the view from their Cape Cod compound. NIMBYs are everywhere.
Contact your card issuer, report your card as lost stolen. They will issue you a new card with a new number. Quite simply, really.
...there should be plenty of raw material available.

I wish mine were half as large as his!
Yes, but you would still have to go through a TSA anal probe to get there. And no bottled water.

The issue with compulsory licensing would get very muddy if Natco Pharma is allowed to export the medication outside of India's borders.
I'm not sure if the Chinese are better at spying, or just get caught more often.
Right, and if you are 63 years old, as I am, you can have all the skill sets (and continuing education) in the world and no one wants to hire you.

This just in, Putin bought the unmodified code from them for use in the next election. Now he can announce his victory before the votes are even cast!
And, in the process, LS has proved to be quite the petulant child.
