    • Morocco
    • Rwanda
    • New Zealand (will phase out plastic bags)
    • China (plastic bags since 2008, and plastic disposable items since 2015 in Jilin province
  2. Just a normal glass works well.

  3. The problem with plastic is that it isn't biodegradable. No natural process can break it down. Plastic photodegrades and that can take hundreds of years. Small broken down pieces of plastic soak up poisonous chemicals and are eaten by animals and fish. And thus enter the entire food chain. Very many bird and fish are killed by plastic every year.

Well there are some criticisms of low energy light bulbs.
    • * Color is not as natural as for old fashioned light bulbs
    • * Lack of tolerance to changes in humidity and temperature
    • * High purchasing cost, but that is outweighed by savings in energy cost
    • * Increased energy cost of production, but that is also outweighed by savings in energy during usage

But overall there are no good reason to use old fashions light bulbs. And in the EU production is not allowed since September 2012.

Actually shutting down the internet is relatively common worldwide. India, Pakistan and Iraq shuts down the internet fairly often. It often happens during political unrest.

And sadly EU increased about same amount that USA reduced emissions 2017 in tons. Everyone who wants to can do their own comparison of emissions by various countries.

  12. Yeltsin's dislike => Putin's dislike

  13. You are right that Russian purpose is not to support one party. Russia want to sow discord and distrust in democracy. Russian meddling the US 2016 presidential elections was partially motivated by Yeltsin's dislike of Clinton since Bill supported Yeltsin. And Putin has often accused the CIA of sabotaging Russian elections. A former US ambassador to Russia gave 50 million USD to civil society assistance in Russia 2012 which is talked about in Russia as evidence of US interference. Putin plays on popular anti-US sentiment and conspiracy theories.

Russia has been meddling in elections since 2004 in up to 27 nations. Here are some examples

    1. France 2017 presidential elections
    2. Mexican 2018 presidential election
    3. Austria 2017 elections, where far-right Putin supported Freedom Party got in
    4. German 2017 elections, with interference reminiscent of Russian interference in the US elections
    5. UK 2107 and probably 2015 elections

It is not about left vs right. Russia is sowing discord and distrust in democracy. Russia has been interfering in many countries not just the US, but also Germany, France, Britain, Norway and more. Russia funds far-right parties like National Front in France, supports the anti EU UKIP party in the UK and the left-wing Spanish Podemos party that has a favorable view of Russia, and lots more. Now the 2016 election was also about Putin not liking Clinton since Bill supported Yeltsin.

"In June 2018 it was revealed that Arron Banks, the biggest donor to the campaign for leaving, and co-organiser of Leave.EU received the offer of a Russian gold mine, and had had a series of meetings with the Russian Ambassador. On 14 June 2018, Banks appeared before Parliamentary committee hearing, where he appeared to admit to having lied about his engagements with Russians, and later walked out refusing to answer further questions by citing a luncheon appointment with the Democratic Unionist Party. This has led Vince Cable, former Secretary of State for Business, to publicly state there is the possibility of "treason".

In July 2018, the House of Commons Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee, released an interim report on 'Disinformation and ‘fake news’', stating that Russia had engaged in "unconventional warfare" through Twitter and other social media against the United Kingdom, designed to amplify support for a "leave" vote in Brexit. "

  16. According to the International Energy Agency (https://www.iea.org/geco/emissions/):

"Emissions in the European Union grew by 1.5%, adding almost 50 Mt of CO2, reversing some of the progress made in recent years mainly due to robust growth in oil and gas use."

As for China: "China’s economy grew nearly 7% last year but emissions increased by just 1.7% (or 150 Mt) thanks to continued renewables deployment and faster coal-to-gas switching."

And as for the US: "The biggest decline came from the United States, where emissions dropped by 0.5%, or 25 Mt, to 4 810 Mt of CO2, marking the third consecutive year of decline."

The US emissions have been declining for about the last ten years or so, and as for the EU the trend was decreasing steadily for the last twenty years. And for China the sharp increase the last 25 years appears to have mostly leveled of.

If you want to make comparisons the emissions per capita for China it is 7.7, for the US 16.1 and for the EU 6.9.
