Methanol is consumed, plant a new tree, or use more deadwood, and you've got a very nice renewable energy cycle that is indirectly powered by the sun. As long as plants grow and the sun shines, you're fine.
Yeah, tell me this in a few billion years, when the sun dies, then I'll believe it's a renewable resource.;)
A buddy of mine takes old computer parts (and stereos, and small TVs, etc.) and launches them off the parkade. Makes for excellent physics experiments.
As for worms, yeah, of course, any operating system has vulnerabilities. And if they're common and documented well enough, a worm or virus would be trivial for the right person to develop.
More specifically, every operating system is as vulnerable as the dumbass using it. If people didn't at least practice a little common sense (ie. if you don't know where it's been, don't [put it in your mouth/poke your finger in it/open it on your computer]), then they fully deserved the consequences.
I won't comment on Taiwan, but I will agree that all of China is not firewalled - just look at.hk (Hong Kong, for those of you who don't know your domains).
I was wondering if anyone would label the previous post a "troll". Guess the moderators are still smokin' dem drugs - they clearly don't get the humour of the post.
Money is known as the universal lubricant for good reason.
I dunno, but it sounds like a pretty bad lubricant to use on condoms. Personally, I wouldn't want paper cuts all over my pecker, and metal slivers are even worse.
Peter Lauwers, managing partner of the firm Holden Day Wilson, told the Toronto Sun newspaper that Hoy was "one of the best and brightest" members of the 200-man association.
Hmmm...what drugs was that manager smokin'? If a guy in his firm is "one of the best and brightest" in his firm, and still manages to fly 24 floors demonstrating how not to test glass strength, I think that says a lot about their firm. Remind me not to hire any of them.
Scientists are actively seeking an organism that can feed on radiation. There has to be one out there.
The thing about finding organisms that feed on radiation would be that the organism would either have to be able to change the radioactive material into a different isotope as a part of its metabolism, or it would have to sequester the material within its body long enough to have the material naturally change itself.

You know, the only way this plan could be viable was if they:
found a relatively airtight cavern
that is small enough for a significant volume of air to be compressed into
that was structurally sound for the purpose, and
that nobody planned on building above.
Personally, I'm a much bigger fan of hydroelectricity than the proposed method in the article. Granted, you'll be displacing wildlife (including people) whenever you build dams, but for the electricity you generate, it's probably one of the cleanest methods available.

Maybe it h4x0r3d Google and indexed all of its pages, along with a bunch of junk pages...

Is this IV related to that IV?
Actually, my first thought was, "Wow, are we living out Star Trek or what?"
Indeed, nobody did. It's your family album that's on display there.
You sure are, considering you're this kind of special.
Better not let Microsoft get a hold of it, otherwise, they might just screw things up.

That's a nasty thought. I can't believe I just thought it.
