Many prostitutes are actually slaves and their lives are broken beyond their will. Comments like the one I respond to represent how the people whose wives, sisters or daughters would never be taken in this illegal-but-true slavery (thanks God!), yet these people (yes, I know you're not among them) are 'ok' with supporting the business possibly built on slavery. When one buys something, it doesn't mean it wasn't stolen. Think twice and stop promoting this, even in a joke.
When we look at two objects, one close to us and one distant, say, 100 feet, our eyes reconfigure to see the distant object as clearly as possible. But when one looks at such two objects presented on a screen, eyes don't need to tune to the (virtual in this case) distant object anymore.
While movies have the same problem, they aren't interactive, and aren't so much demanding for our eyes as, say, a racing game would be (where one needs to contantly look "far forward".)
This is why I would offer 2d (or at least flat 3d) human-computer interaction to children.
Yes. This is a good example of what "lie to help" may lead to... Even Wikipedia has forbidden so-called "original research" and most articles will let you verify facts in different sources. Actually it (Wikipedia) taught me to try verify things all the time and only have my own opinion rather than blindly accepting someone's else. Unfortunately this may be time-consuming, so the first rule is don't spread unless verified...
I'm pretty sure I'm not the first to express this, but what about using two words, eg. "banana" and "guitar" this way: "bgauniatnara"? It's still easy to remember, but not that easy to guess by dictionary search. That being said, the major problem I think is not about a single password strength, but about the reuse of passwords along different services...
What I like about this fact is that people think positively: they're ready to donate to something they like. But in most of it... As this talented speaker on TED said, we need to integrate the technology, entertainment, design, i.e. the happy (and consumer) part of our life with the awareness of injustice, bad life of poor, bloody lessons of history and other things which would make us little more adequate about what world we live in. He also said that the indicator of health of society is how they treat the poor, not the rich.
I join those commentators who think that $2.5M would do much more useful and meaningful things if it was donated elsewhere, i.e. with a little bit deeper thougth.
Let me explain what i mean by 'soviet-russian-forces'. You probably think I mean everyone who speaks Russian. It's not the case. By that I mean, first of all, those people, who 1) represent the old mindset of corruption, family- and friend-based governments and criminal way of doing their big businesses; 2) those who intuitively resist any development by being part of these corruption machines and aggresive businesses; 3) the old authocratic education system; 4) the very-low-quality popular culture build on top of erased culture memory of several soviet generations.
By resurrecting culture I mean giving people higher aesthetic standards which will help them live corruption-less, criminal-less, creative lives. (Yep, the last sentence sounds like a fantasy, but every fantasy has a little bit of truth).
I think the first thing they need is our understanding and not some military actions of USA. If others around the world will understand that chinese people are just like any other and deserve to live in democracy, but instead they have all this crimes done by government against them, then, maybe, it might help them fight for their future in certain points. I just think we can feel solidarity, even if we can't help directly.
(Some day someone may be making a protest in some civilised coutry which will influence that country to make sanctions against China or any other totalitarian state, and that state will need to do something to stop crimes.)

argh, I meant 3d instead of '33'. Sorry.

Oops, I should have said "across" instead of "along". Sorry, still far from perfect in English.

Imagine the possiblities for 8-legged pizzicato.
Was just about to write this! Completely agree. Then use PureData to amplify, delay, slowdown and multiply this...
