    Subsidized you say?

Wait until we start 'subsidizing' the decommissioning of all those nuclear-waste producers...

For that money we could have reached 100% solar coverage. From the Sahara.

If everybody expected huge returns on facebook stocks then the price of those stocks would go sky high and investors would rather consider some tech-stocks with big returns, maybe, in 10 years. Problem solved, the market did all the work.

  3. Rival hybrid automobiles performance cheaper? on Diesel-Like Engine Could Boost Fuel Economy By 50% · · Score: 1

Delphi's engine, using a technique called gasoline-direct-injection compression ignition, could rival the performance of hybrid automobiles at a cheaper cost.

I don't think so. The person who wrote this didn't foresee that the combustion part of the hybrid will be using the exact same technique.

    ...Boost Fuel Economy By 50%

Yes, if you read that gasoline engines have an efficiency of 30% and diesels of 40-45%, then 50% improvement for the gasoline means 50% of 30%, or 15% absolute, which brings it exact on the maximum diesel efficiency of 45%.

Europe is struggling because of their austerity policies.

    Totally wrong.

Europe is struggling (and failing) because of the puppets in the EC not accepting the fact that it already hàs failed, and because they refuse to let get broke who deserves to get broke (banks who issued loans that they knew could never be repaid).

And the biggest contribution to the failure of Europe *and* the US is that the governments are so stupid to borrow money from the banks, instead of printing it themselves.

You know what makes you fat? As the article says, input vs. output.

There's a Dr. Robert Lustig (go, check him out on google) who said that the input increases because (amongst others) alcohol and fructose interfere with the part in your brains that make you feel full. Or in fact, they do *not* interfere at all, so no matter how much of it you consume, it doesn't make you feel full, but ads a lot in energy intake.

He backs his story up in an impressive lecture with a lot of biochemistry to explain why and how exactly this works.

The things that will make you fat: [snip> Too many fruits

It's difficult to eat too many fruits because after a few of them you'd feel full because of all the fiber you just ate. Fruit juice o.t.o.h. as someone state somewhere above, has *no* (or little) fibers and contains the sugar of many fruits per glass.

I heard some young speaker on a TEDx presentation say: "You can pay the farmer or you can pay the doctor." That definitely resonated with me.
