    Ah, the everlasting discussion... Do you need to upgrade your OS? Do you really need a newer version of the word processor you are currently running? In short, if your PC is doing everything you want to do with it, what's the point in getting a newer one?

    And there we go again, the typical Slashdot paranoia flares once again...now this is probably a troll, and I shouldn't even reply to it, but I just can't resist. The whole tracking thing was to see what happened to the book you left somewhere in the urban jungle. Whether this is Tom Sawyer or Mein Kampf is up to you...and whether the next owner decides to register on said website is up to him/her/it, so what's the problem?

    Very well, but nevertheless I fail to see how criticizing your government means you hate your country. On the contrary, when I criticize my own government I do so because they're making decisions I deem harmful for the country and its people. In doing so, I try to protect my country...

    They'll stick with M$ as long as they have to wade through piles of documentation on how to use the one that keeps running and running in order to actually use it...

    Long time no see indeed. I'm quite surpised anybody still remembers me :)

    Anyways, in the case of Milli Vanilli I doubt it was the high quality music that persuaded the crowds, but rather the good-looking artists, their tropical clips etc.

    Which leads me to wonder how the public would react if say, Mark Knopfler, turned out to be a fake. The music of Dire Straits hardly depended on personality of funky clips to be interesting...

    Argghhh! So my computer isn't even supposed to boot up then? My Mobo (MSI Apollo Pro 2a) has been forced (by me) to live without ACPI since I bought it, and so far the 3 different versions of XP I installed on it seemed to be perfectly fine with that...but the main reason everybody here seems to be ignoring as to why a computer needs to stop the customer from turning off ACPI is that when you have XP installed, and you then turn ACPI off, XP is dead, and stays dead, even when turning ACPI back on. You and I can fix that, but Joe Blow calls Microsoft for support...

    But who needs a Geforce 3? a Decent Geforce 2MX 400 64mb/TV-out is perfectly affordable, and if you know what you're doing, you can even get some more performance out of it by moving the cute little sliders to the right...and fact is that PC can also be used for other purposes, assuming you didn't manage to find a good Spreadsheet program for Playstation 2 :-)

    Might be a nifty device to use as a stereo component with that S-Video out.

    Well, it's a nice piece of machinery hardware-wise, but I wouldn't want it in my living room looking like that. Otherwise putting a DVD in that one 5 1/4 slot would be very interesting...
