Over engineered, if you ask me. I just recently upgraded to an auto-darkening welding helmet and it is wonderful! My weld quality increased ten fold, and I can actually strike the arc where I want to, instead of pretty much at random.
I would recommend that anyone shopping for one spend a little extra and get the adjustable tint model. My $50 hobbyist grade model isn't quite dark enough and I end up wearing sunglasses underneath for extra comfort. The $100 models go darker.
Either way, it's a whole world of difference compared to using basically the same helmet my grandfather used building WWII battleships.
you realize that jews and christians are doing this same type of crap, right?
You can say anything you want about Jesus and no Christian will kill you. In fact, Jesus specifically told us you would and that we should do nothing. So say anything you want about my religion. It's okay. I forgive you.
It is truly admirable that teachers will spend their own salary on supplies, but they need to stop doing it. The school board will eventually make up the difference, but will be happy to let them dip into their own pockets until then. I also think they need to go home every day at 5PM and leave their work behind, unless there's overtime pay (some states do, most don't).
Lets say your company sent you to install some software at a client site, but you have to supply the server. Would you do it? Maybe you would, if you were passionate enough about your job. Would your boss expect it the next time? Oh yeah.
And in regards to the federal level comment, school shouldn't be part of the Federal Government at all. Lets keep the taxes, the revenue, and the expenditure at the local level. Then, if you have a problem with the way schools are run, you can take it up with the county. Unless, that is, you prefer things like No Child Left Behind.
That's what it cost me to figure out that each hosted domain has a different credit card record for autorenewal. So updating one record won't stop the rest of your domains from expiring. Bastards. They're worse than Comcast.
Good for me, though, since that caused me to switch everything to a competitor and not be affected by this outage.
Every student in my wife's 2nd grade class qualifies for the free and reduced lunch program, which puts them all at or below the poverty level. And they all seem to have Nintendo DS's.
All I'm saying is, teachers need to stop using their personal resources in the classroom. As long as they're willing to give things to the students, the school system will continue to encourage them to do so. Let the parents figure out how to provide calculators for their children. That's not the teacher's responsibility.
Your posts are insightful. You don't need to be an asshole.
Sell them. You're getting paid about 1/4 of what you're worth. Sell 'em.
You could give them to needy students, each who can't afford one but still has a new Nintendo DS, of you could pocket some cash and take your significant-other out to dinner. If you ever get a night off from grading papers or writing lesson plans.
In the U.S, information gathered during background checks for firearms purchases is required by law to be discarded. During the D.C. Beltway Sniper case, police interviewed everyone who had ever purchased a gun similar to the one used. Hmm... Wonder how they knew. Didn't even make the news and nobody lost a job over it, despite clearly a violation of federal law.
So, yeah, I wouldn't trust anybody with DNA.
Tinfoil hat time: The Red Cross collects your DNA when you donate blood. It's in the fine print. Pisses me off every time I give blood.
I looked this up because I wanted to start a political flame war, but he did "express regret" when he signed the bill cancelling it. So I guess it's okay.
Protection from foreign invasion is one of the few actual responsibilities of the federal government. The purpose of the militia is to protect the people from the federal government. The framers, having just overthrown a government, left that as a backup plan.
Whether we could put up much of a fight against the U.S. military is another discussion, but ignoring the real purpose of the 2nd amendment is ignoring history.
What about limiting the freedom of speech or due process for a convicted felon? That wouldn't be considered acceptable at all. Do we only follow the parts of the constitution that we find acceptable?
I'm not advocating free machine guns for criminals, but circumstances have changed and there is a mechanism in place to rewrite the 2nd amendment. That would require both sides to compromise and come up with something acceptable to 3/4 of everybody, and that's not going to happen.
Not all states have teachers unions. Her's is just a group-rate for liability insurance and a magazine subscription.
She would recommend the full summer vacation and that parents read to their kids every day. The real issue here is that a large portion of parents expect the school system raise their children for them. Anybody who plops their kids on front of the TV for the whole summer is a failure as a parent. I'm vehemently against home schooling but that's what I'll have to do if the government tries to take away our summer break. That time belong to me and my kids. And I have plans for it.
Is it just me, or are more and more blatant flamebait stories reaching the front page recently? What actual relevant, meaningful news is contained in this story?
Good luck affording any destination vacation when you're competing with the entire nation for the same two weeks. And never mind taking two trips while the weather is still warm.
I see this kind of plan coming from California where the weather is nice for 3/4 of the year.

or you find that the documentation loaded onto the iPads is corrupt and the engine-out landing checklist is not available when you need it.
Look at the bright side. You could still play Angry Birds.

As long as it doesn't have the address of your parents basement, I see nothing to worry about.
Give away?

Throw in enough CMMI, and even a toothbrush gets expensive.

If you intend to commit a crime, leave your phone somewhere that will support your alibi. If you're going to frame someone, take theirs.

It's Bush's fault.

Learning constantly for 12 years is hard.
This.
My son has his whole life ahead of him to have his soul crushed in a cubicle. He has only one chance to be a kid.
"We just sit there and watch TV"
That's the parent's fault, not the school system.
My wife is a teacher. Do you know what teachers do during "Teacher Work Days"?
Mandatory All Hands Meetings.
You might think they're working on lesson plans or report cards or grading papers, but that's what they do at home at night.
Even a single person should have at least some life insurance with whoever would pay to bury you as the beneficiary.

I had two 8" drives on my TRS-80 Model I, but it was a custom job hard wired straight into the expansion interface.

Noob.
I blame the G.O.P.
