    The idea is older than that. From the very link, they "bolster[ed] the proposition" - they didn't come up with the idea.

    If you move though space faster, you necessarily move through time more slowly.

    Sort of... but what about the twin paradox? The travelling twin ages less. Couldn't you argue that actually they have moved through time faster? They find themselves in the year 2525 while their twin, who stayed at home, has only got as far as 2015 while experiencing the same amount of local time.

    I thought sqrt(x^2+y^2+z^2 -t^2) (not +t^2) was the constant... but it all gets very tricky when you try to consider the amount of time travelling through time takes.

    If it is the brain stealing calories that slows development, how come when you feed a child a high-calorie diet he becomes a fat child rather than a young adult?

    Probably because "stealing calories" is just an over-simplified journalistic bit of fluff.

    Just because someone implies a causation doesn't mean they've automatically made the mistake you're raving about.

    Did you, perhaps, try reading the paper to understand why this claim is being made?

    To play Devil's advocate for a moment, none of those came along with (as I assume the video in question does) an expression of the ideology behind the act, nor were they posed for the sole purpose of being recorded and distributed.

    Citation needed. The offence is "possession," not "viewing."

    Well, yes, that's what happens when you're found guilty of an offence. There's nothing automatic about it, though. We have these funny little things called trials, first.

    There are many instances in British law of absolute offences for which there is no defence.

    That sounds a bit tautological. If you committed the offence, you would, ideally, be found guilty. If successfully defend against the accusation, then from a legal standpoint you did not commit the offence in the first place.
