    It integrates with Internet Explorer, to the extent of adding a launcher to a link's context menu. It also works perfectly happily on its own (see above).

    A recent paper by Dr Rob Jenkins of the Department of Psychology at York University (UK) has managed to prove that you can get useful images of faces from the reflections in eyes.

    Didn't anyone think this couldn't be done?

    That's a pretty noobish mistake for an Antarctic research team to make.

    now trapped in ice and have called in ice-breaking ships to rescue them, which in turn will reduce the formation of sea ice.

    By something on the order of 0.00001% - if at all, given the chaotic nature of climate interactions. For all I know ice breakers might increase the total amount of ice once they've been through.

    We don't know how terrible the source images were. The curves at the bottom suggest there were only three input images, so the stripes may have been present in the individual images, and aren't the result of poor stitching.

    Well done them and everything - I mean, I've not managed to put a probe on the moon - but when the USians are getting this back from Mars, I'd be pretty underwhelmed with my achievement if I were the Chinese.

    Parallel can be viewed without glasses for very long periods if you can control your focus properly.

    But then the two images are limited in separation to roughly the distance between your eyes, because you can't move them much past parallel.

    I tried parallel-viewing Wimbledon the first year they showed it in 3D on a 32" TV, but I couldn't get anywhere near bringing the images together, even after I'd scaled the picture down to about 50%. If it had been cross-eyed, I'd have had no trouble (well, until the headaches started).
