SHA is a security protocol, the value of SHA is proportional to the number of people who looked at the source and tryed to break it. Sure you probably need a security expert, or even several ones to come up with SHA. It is not simple, but the harder work is on the hand of those others who try to break it, and in this process validate it. Shouldn't those be rewarded also?

How many movies of great directors you saw that "cite" or makes "homages" to other movies and other directors? Your definition seems to reward the performer with the brand "artist" and make the composer, directors, script-writers to the background. Write a song is hard, write a song that you can't take out of your head after hearing it, is even harder. Write a song that is considered by the critics and knowledgeble people as a good song is also hard. It has nothing to do on how hard or how it is performed (witch is another art in itself).
You don't think that a performer is an artist also? She does dance and stuff. And for the music part, her name do represents someone that do compose and produce the music.

I just don't agree with the selling part, all art history is somewhat composed of rehashes with a few changes here and there. Many bands, good bands, have a significant style, that can sound as the same music rehashed.
Many people consider all classic music all the same, siomply because they don't heard it enouth to be able to recognise the differences. The same happen with newer styles, people at the begin reject them as "noise" or "not-music" and when they get used to the style they start to like.
To the untrained eye many impressionists can look the same stuff, rehashed. And so it goes on...
It is my opinion that if the person who did the pen cap thought he (or she) was doing art then it is.
The dog certaily did not thought he was doing art while crapping, but if an artist got the pile of crap and expose it in a high profile musueum you'll bet it will be art.
With online cassinos how can you be sure? Sure they will post testimonials of people who had win. And you can even make the program so it will give back 1% of the winnings. But it is impossible to be absolutely sure that the site is being honest.
Only a legalized site, with several checks by a trusted third party (goverment?) could offer assurance.
The only problem I see with gambling is that is very easy to make everyone loose (everyone but the site/cassino owner). If the game is balanced to take out only the needed money to maintain the infrastructure and give a reasonable profit, I have nothing against it.
Also I think that since there are people who gamble until broke, there could/should probably exist some kind of safe keep for those people. To protect them of them selves.

But in the end the economy isn't just that? A castle of cards of values, build to be impressive? How much costs a computer, witch is nothing more then sand processed? And a software? What is the value of water? (or why perier is so expensive?)

That's why you probably get much more money for your work then a similar person here in Brasil doing the same job (not sure where you live, but I'm guessing EUA or europe). At the same time you pay much more for stuff that are almost free here.
But in this days the money keeps circulating, money makes more money magicly appear. Most of the value of the money dosen't really exists, it is pure fiction. I know that economy is very complex and all bonds and future markets are realy hard to understand, but all of this serve to on purpose only, Hide the simple fact that your money don't really exist (as value).
This is the reason there are market crashes, when people realise that the piece of paper you holning has no actual money, due to expeculative actions on the side of banks, big brokers and goverments.
