money that cost much more that it's value. With interest and all. Money that will in it's large amount locked in a bit array incarnation. Instead money used to rebuild the window will have the solid incarnation in peoples pockets.
This hole broken window falacy takes into acount that the money spended in the broken window would be spended in other goods. But in theses days in witch we live in this is most certainly not the true.
Sure if you have 10$ you would probaably spend it somewhere, but the same is not true if you have thousands or milions, this money will probably be locked away in some kind of investiment that in the end takes money from the society and put it in the hands of bankers and the like.
Forcing enterprises to rebuild and/or spending their reserve do put money in the hands of the people, and at least in this humble, non-economist, point of view is a good thing.
The worst part is setting the water temperature at 31C witch is very similar to the human body temperature (37C). This for me seems to indicate a water that has a temperature similar to pee, since it is warmer then the room temperature.

He said that Wine was a drop in replacement for the windows API and not for the windows OS. The windows OS offer the API and a few(?) other environment bells, whistles, sinks and whatever for it's user's and applications.
This is not a "American" thing, I usually read the Brasilian, french and american press and as I can tell all of them did this. While all of them concentraded in the large numbers (arround 150.000 now) they would do side news with local numbers.
Since this is very far and expensive for Brasilians we had a few casualites, from what I heard there were more germans tourists.
Most companies donate so they get tax reliefs for those donations, so they donate with money that would be destined to taxes. In exchange they can show in their pages/ads that they did help with X or Y. Enterprises don't loose a penny, only the govern pay.
That's exactly what I do, I have a ide USB converter that allows me to connect and disconnect ide/ATA hds to a usb (2.0) port. The bad thing is that my USB is 1.0 so it works rather slow on those.
Anyway I turn it on, backup, unmount and turn it off. pretty safe I guess. (if anyone can think of better way, I sure want to hear it, I'm awaye open to new way of being safe with my data)
This is by far the worst atack I ever saw in any cripto-protocol. This is really-really-bad. I think passwords are the least of my preocupation right now.
Almost all the distributions use MD5 to check the validity of files downloaded. (I'm not sure if pgp uses MD5). Changing this will be a really big head ache, and it will have to be done.:-/
I have not read the article, but what I got is that you can create two messages with the same MD5 by appending (or pre-pending) two different blocks into it. I guess it is is useless for passwords, but if it is easy maybe you should change the password to SHA1.
I really don't get it, all the main news organization have lied or purposely omitted facts, and those were not small fact or stuff that didn't matter. Just check project censored to see a few examples for your self. And people go crying blogs should not be trusted, sure I would agree with you if you said 99% of the blogs can't be trusted, but it dosen't mean that all of them are bad. Some can actually be better then fox or cnn.
Lilo and stich is almost the same as the "The iron Giant" (fox animation, if I'm not mistaken) witch is a quite good animated movie. Same history line, weapon that turns into a friend.
it'll be quite clear that Pixar's where all the magic is.
Do you think that there's any doubt of this, at this time? Sure there are a few short sighted people that can't see it right now, but as soon pixar leaves it will be clear to anyone.
Disney closing their 2d animating studios in favour of 3D will not help also.
While I'm all for creating materials that are bio degradable, a part of me screams what about those people who are hungry all over the world? Should we use perfectly good food to create disposable, non-eatable CDs?
Maybe I am wrong, maybe this is made out of parts of the corn that are not eatable or it could be created from food that would be wasted anyway. But somehow I doubt it.
Disney is lost, the only movies that are realy good from "them" are actualy from pixar. After "the incredibles" pixar is not legaly bound to disney (they had a contract of 5 movies, that turned into 6 since disney insisted that toy story 2 was a sequel and did not count as a movie).
They now are thinking that 3D is the reason pixar is a success, forgeting that those movies are good for their characters, scripts and animation skills. If disney keep doing movies like the last ones they produced, they will sink even deeper.
This is vulnerable to a replay atack. The computer records the fingerprint and the atacker can use it the data to gaim access to the same card in a latter oprtunity.
Unless the reader is trustable and the card it self drive it.
Well I must I liked your "c vc c++" article, but you yourself stated the main problem I see with C++. The incapacity of knowing what is happening behind the scenes. What if you're programing in a plataform with a good STL and when you happen to deploy the program it has am awful implementation? You will never know what have hit you, since it was not your code.
Well in resume in the C++ world, and in many higher level worlds you're much more dependent in the tools you're using. This is good for one side, since the tools do some hard work for you (like templates), but it has a bad side also, since you never know when you gona step in a problem with the implemantation of tool it self and have your hands tied.
That use that you meant is a hash function, and it is somewhat common to be published, some examples are MD5 and sha1.
Signatures are more secure because they require access to a secret key to be generated. To check them is somewhat more complex because you will need the corresponding public key. There are several ways to get a public key with some sort of confidence that it is not a counterfit.
gpg has a series of servers that replicate the keys. Some people uses certificates, that are keys signed by a trusted 3rd party. Once you got a public key you never need to retrieve it again from the net, since it is stored in your key ring.

It works like this :
1st make the american people really scared. with some bombastic news.
2nd vote for new budget for NASA
3rd eventually you assume that the 1st news were somewhat exagerated or a sompletly lie.
4th be re-elected... ops, this was't suposed to be here, or was it????

What about a revolution in revolution making...
Root in your computer? Level 3? Just kidding... :-D
Yes there is, yum, apt and etc. But those tools are mildly inteligent as not to update a system with the wrong version.
But I do have the patent on IsToo non-enumarable infinity, witch is larger then IsToo infinity. I win!

Many languages have a more natural form :
foreach( flower in flowers) do { flower.setNectar(0); }
But wouldn't the foreiger applicant have to meet the same criteria?

Yes you're right, I didn't knew about this one. :-)
