The number of CS jobs are painfully small. I've only seen a handful of companies in my techy area that are looking for that. Also my programming consulting job pays tons and tons more than my CS ever did.
Probably missed over the sound of the/. luddites cheering this on is the prevailing assumption that humans can't compete against robots and so now we just have to steal money from companies.
What about if humans CAN do things people pay money for? People pay me money for doing my job.
Most websites allow users to interact to some extent without eventually registering and then allowing to pull in the content they've created as part of the new account.
It's up to private individuals to push for other platforms, but google's censorship is so poorly reported and the big 5 are so effective at demonizing and restricting alternate platforms (like gab).
The Chinese won't pay the dollars it takes to send their kids to highschool (as is the case in most provinces), but exotic trains for the government elite, oh yeah, let's do that.
A free market would kill this nonsense right away.
They don't talk about "plenty of folks in the queue". They talk about a shortage of IT workers.
I switched from C# to ASP.NET MVC with highly stretched experience and a portfolio from my personal time.
Age seems to be a big factor, though, I agree.

I disagree with that explanation. Very few professions outside tech are paid anywhere near what we are paid.
Pharmacists, truckers. That's about it.
I hear a lot about 50+ people getting attention from recruiters ... not very many stories of people over 50 getting hired anywhere.
But can you get hired for it?
No one wants to pay taxes. Republicans don't. Not even democrats do.
So you want to reward the people who keep it a secret.
That's the mentality of the KGB.
Let's give NASA credit for doing nothing.
What are we paying these guys for?
Government workers should get their say in the election process, right?
A little extra say more than anyone else?
We can be the next Russia !! A land of corrupt, impoverished hackers.
The internal IRS memo explicitly said to audit them for being TEA party groups.
Someone deserves the chair for that. If Lois Lerner won't tell us who put her up to it, it should be her.
What? Are you speaking out in favor of auditing being used as a political tool to silence dissent?

Journalists with ideals ... those things are so vaulted away they would know what they were if they found one.
You're saying its better to not provide these services?
A lot of people will do nothing if the prices don't reach a certain point.
Sure you can gripe about it or regulate or whatever, but the alternative is it doesn't happen.
The high-end / expensive option is coming down in price and this is a race to the bottom? It's still a lot more than normal market.
5% inflation is good?
Ordinary people who can't easily switch jobs would be hard pressed to agree.
Most websites allow users to interact to some extent without eventually registering and then allowing to pull in the content they've created as part of the new account.
Sounds like the way websites should be designed.

That is so disturbing and so believable. People despise their freedom so much.
This is not a "free speech" issue.
This is a company steering all their users to their own political views issue.
Google Play alternatives (of which there are many) should be invoked.
>> It's right there in the propaganda
FTFY
Hugo Chavez died with $2 billion in his pockets because he wanted to help "the masses". You know better than to fall for this.
Where do most millionaires live? Inside the DC beltway.
The company overlord got replaced by a crueler government overlord.
I feel this. I'm not afraid of off shoring or divorce or bad management or any of the other things people mention here.
... (?)
Age discrimination really seems to put a ticking clock on my back. I'm 35, though, so maybe it isn't so bad
What tech stack are you on? What part of the country?
You paid sales tax or a blockbuster tax?
Maybe there should be a pistachio almond icecream tax?
Or a left handed tax?
Or a couldn't make it to see the eclipse, but I need the government's filthy fingers in my back pocket tax?
Where do you draw the line?
Way to distribute Chinese propaganda, Slashdot ...

"The search Electron developer jobs in Raleigh, NC did not match any jobs."
Not touching it.
