If the Knife is good and sharp you can easily control where it goes. The real problem here is people using dull knifes. My swiss army which I sharpen every 2 weeks on my electric kitchen sharpener works perfect for opening this stuff. The only downside is I need to buy a new knife every couple of years when it gets low. But there is nothing like a sharp knife. Just think of the sharpness on a good knife when its new. Thats what you get again and again.

Newegg does not do ANY PO based orders from what I can tell. I have inquired about every year or so to make sure they don't silently offer it. But think about it. Newegg's goal is to provide us stuff as cheap as possible with maintaining there profit margin. Right now in only having CC orders they do not need to have an AR department to handle all of the incoming checks from company's matching them up with the invoices and marking them paid. Lots of manual steps. With the credit cards, they know its just handled. So by only acceptin credit cards, they have less employee overhead. I know at our company which only processes 60-100 orders per day we need 2 AR people. That adds up with salarys and emoployee overhead quick.

  4. still probably illegal on Xbox Modders Charged Under DMCA · · Score: 5, Informative
Although it is not illegal to install a mod chip in the box, by far all of the software run on these in one shape and form is illegal. Yes I know there is a perfectly legal way to run linux on this machine, but that is not what is used in practice. Even without using "commercial" software, you still need 2 pieces of sofware to make this work

    1. You need to get a hacked bios that lets you boot soemthing else besides the DVD drive
    2. you need to run some sort of dashboard. (basically a menu manager on which programs to launch.

Since all of these are built with an piece of software that MS owns, and is not licensened to build "homebrew" software its still technically not legal to get this software. That is why this software is not availiable for blatent download, you have to do a little bit of digging.

Now ethically I have no problem with the abouve steps to lets say get xbox media center working (my favorite reason for my xbox). But I think the store selling the box with games is totally wrong and just blatent copyright infringement/theft, depending on the camp you talk to. People worked hard on the games, and they deserve to get paid, just like you deserve to get paid at your work for what you do.

Even though I thoroughy agree on your points. I have one opposing argument. If you want others to view you as upper management and respect your decisions, instead of just the "Comptuer Guy" you need to look the part too. I used to wear business causal dress to my place of employemnt. (Basically cheap kakhi pants and a polo shirt from target). But in recent months I have come to the conclusion, if I want to be taken serioulsy then I need to look like I am playing on the same level the managers I interact with on a daily basis. As much as we say in todays society that impressions don't count, they still do. In short If you are content doing the same job day in and day out for the rest of your life, don't change your dress. If you want to advance, Dress like you are in the position you want to be. It will help get respect and hopefully advancement.

It was determined he needed coulds to show it. I don't think this will work because the planes will not look fast on TV because there will be nothing behind them to show there speed.

I put in a jabber server at my company about 6 months ago. At first mgmt was worried about persons constantly chatting back and forth not getting anything done, but that has turned out to not be the case. We use it primarily for the quick converstations that need quick answers in customer service. They can send a quick note to an avaiable engineer/tech support and quickly answer the customers question.

It is also a great tool for our receptionist so she knows who is avaible and who is not. As stated in the above post it is hard to put a dollar figure on this, but it does save time for quick questions and un-like e-mail spelling and grammer does not matter as much due to not having logging. It has a sense of unformality that enables persons to communicate quick without feeling the need to spell check every last thing.

Once great thing we did was set the away time on our psi jabber client to like 1 or 2 minutes. It automatically goes into away mode so anyone knows who is there and not at any given moment. this is really useful when trying to find someone really quickly. The file transfer options work really good too. It saves spaces on the e-mail server, but is it simple enough for most people to understand, just like sending a file through e-mail, but we don't need to worry about backing up the damn thing 5000 different revisions now.

There are lots of good uses for this.

Every person keeps thinking of this is a stepbackward, I really do not think so. I think that this will be a replacement of the 802.11x because it will be a lot easier to hookup. The only point of 802.11 is so wiring is not to hard. People keep talking about interfearance, I am sure that 802.11 will have it also, I mean look at a cellphone, thoes damn things never work right, and I would suspect that much higher speeds will be acheived.

The real benifit here is it will be about as easy as plugging in a CAT5 cable into the wall.

    1. There is also an ethernet bridget that one can buy to add there existing infastructure.

    2. In an apartment where you cannot run CAT5 without loosing your security deposite.

    3. Places where it is not possible to run CAT5 without replacing drywall and flooring.

    4. After a while, it will probably be cheaper that 802.11x

    5. It is great for geeks to setup networks at friends houses without having to run cable and drill holes everywhere. I cannot even count how many houses I have had to network.

If you would look at linksys's main page you would see an ethernet powerline bridge. I think there is a lot of potential here, and I plan on getting a set of what I need.
