    unknown of course not being the original poster but if the problem is with the design of the box it may not be fixable and good luck (roll 78 on 4d20 level) actually getting a factory new unit and not a refurb unit (that most of the fix was GooGone and Windex)

    many cable companies have CableCard info as TOP SECRET BURN BEFORE READING (or otherwise actively block CC use)

    the trick is the "monkey" jobs are going away but the higher end jobs (where the PHBs allow it) will stay around.

    The big problem of Evolution is that we are constantly finding ORDER and DESIGN in the universe (even things like "simple" single cell organisms turning out to not be so simple)

    How do you reconcile "millions of years" with things like continents being eroded in several thousands of years?? (no ground to have fossils in)

    you can blunt the effect of maternity leave by doing some planning and having a good protocol for dealing with such things

    1 run your shop with N "spare" workers (i would bet that you won't have a group of females all out on leave at once)
    2 have a good "remote" work policy (telecommuting is a good thing)
    3 have some sort of semi-onsite daycare (cut a deal with a daycare nearby??)
    4 write the policies out so that guys can have a block of personal leave also.

    heck the same sort of planning used for Maternity Leave (or any Family Leave) is a subset of your Disaster Planning (since out dealing with a new kid and out because you got run over by a bus is the same thing for business purposes).

    okay the way the law works is if you want to use a photo/image NOT LABELED AS FREE USE /PUBLIC DOMAIN and you are profiting from it (commercial use) you ring up the photographer/creator and work out a deal

    or

    You get your own camera and take your own picture.

    im sure that a lawyer worth her diploma could work out some sort of deal for a single picture (maybe a couple hundred bucks and or a nice credit line).

    this is the biggest question of any "Cloud" service phrased in a PHB friendly way. Now of course the details are a lot longer but IBM has basically said "Lets stay Inside and make sure we stay dry".

    Does anybody know of a "CloudStack" that allows for a business to run a relay/inside server??

    Okay so if you are in the office (or in a remote office) they would stump for your internet connection so why is it not common practice to pay for a connection for your telecommuters??

    (aka why is an internet connection an issue??)

    so the Federal Communications Commission does not have any say as to the operation of a Communications Company?? I know that some TLA has a ticket that could be pulled to lockdown an ISP. It of course is Double Bizarre if the ISP is also a "Phone Company" that they don't have any kind of FCC license.

    1 by federal law require that all routers (even the rockbottom cheapo ones) be able to deal with IPv6 when sold after %date%
    2 require that all ISP provided equipment be IPv6 capable by %date%+15 days WITH NO CUSTOMER COST
    3 require that the ISP backend stuff route IPv6 by %date%+45 days

    at 60 days pull the FCC license for any ISP not in complience

    set %date% at a fixed point no extensions no cutout deals

    (oh and ISPs should be required to at no cost give a reasonable block of IP addresses to all customers)

    it would help if the different agencies had a single Standard Form and did things like share info (as required) where they overlap. What needs to be done is map the different agencies as to what they do and if an agency has say 85% of its duties done by other agencies then close that agency (reassign the balance to one of the other ones).

    Oi you need to mellow your vibe a bit since ToysRUs has sold phones for a while that are more or less primarily designed to be a kid tracker (with the number 2 function being calling "home" "Mom" "Dad" ect). Now if you are spendy enough (and use an Older iThing) i could see teaching a 5 year old hit this picture and then this picture to call Me that picture to call Mom and this other picture to call Papa Johns (after doing some presetting with said pizza place).

    and then the Auditor Drones demand receipts for EACH AND EVERY installed copy of EVERY program.

    i have heard that they have demanded receipts/purchase orders (with serial numbers) even if you have all of your "magic stickers". trust me if they get going they will find a way to fine you massively.

    actually there is a minimal amount of "extra" price in lego building blocks (note they should not be refered to as "lego" since the correct name is Lego Building Blocks. One of the reasons that the "real" ones are so expensive is that they are made to crazy tolerences the other one being they are just about indestructible. In fact you can take the LegoBB from my collection from when i was a kid and mix it with a new off the shelf kit and know that all the parts will actually work together.

    a LegoBay version would most likely fail.

    well for those areas where there is a serious Ick/Squick factor they do make "rollup" keyboards that can in fact be sanitized/cleaned.
    And worst case all you would have to do is roll the keyboard up and chuck it into the nearest "burn bag/Bin". (and yes these things are cheap enough that having to BBin say 4 or 5 a month should not be a budget breaker)

    what happens when the "Minority Report" is actually CORRECT??

    now if you are doing a calc with 9 significant digits and you are only using 5 then if the error is limited to the "extra" digits then it might work (or if the error is in a predictable range).

    Do you really want the ropes supporting you 800 meters above the ground to have had their strength OVER estimated??

    Im not sure if you are just brain damaged or in marketing (or both) but unless CleanMyPC has a self booting disc then it is worthless for the worst infections.

    It also promises things that are violations of physical laws or otherwise can not be possible.

    In fact i could do better than CleanMyPC with the Windows Defender self booting disc and a couple other FREE tools.

    in short Professor Elementals "Fighting Trousers" would be a good background song for this posting.

    sorry for the bit of OT but just in case the tinyurl was an attempt to run the linkers through some sort of affilate link thing (or something worse than a RickRoll) i would say at this point most of the smart folks have a UnShortener plugin in use.

    personally i think MS should be nailed to the wall for floating this idea and they should "poster gum" Apple right next to them.

    rollup (real) keyboards are cheap nowadays and worst case you can hold the USB connector and then DUNK the keyboard in cleaner. (CDC worst case i think they burn a bit quicker than a "hard" keyboard)
