It did sound strange to me at the time. I shrugged it off as a Macdonalds-ism and didn't think much about it. Now you point that out, it really does sound silly.
Why pirate stuff when you can support the artist by paying them for their work? What? You don't consider it to be good enough to pay for? Why are you wanting it then?
People take pictures of buildings all the time. If you took a picture of mine, I probably wouldn't notice... Unless you started doing it frequently. In which case, I may well take a picture of you. People are too paranoid.
I went to Macdonalds at the weekend to get a cheezburger. They don't actually ask "do you want fries with that". They ask "For here or to go". I was shocked.
Anyone who actually cares about the quality of their browser won't be using one that's 9 years old... IMHO, there's not much point in comparing anything to IE6. The web has changed a lot since IE6 was released, and I wouldn't expect it to work too well with sites using all the latest CSS/Javascript features.
The problem with some businesses is that they have intranet web apps that only work in IE6, so IE8/Firefox/Opera et all can't really convince them to move on. The wonders of relying on proprietary software that not standards compliant.
It shows how much Apple is really about style and sizzle, and how much Microsoft is about utility and usefulness.
I can get my utility and usefulness stuff elsewhere and it will usually be of higher quality. And there's nothing wrong with a bit of style and sizzle. Much better than being bland.
This is one of the areas where I can't help feeling Windows is lagging behind. OS X has some of these useful things built in or available on the installation disk. In Ubuntu too, I can click on Add/Remove and choose from a huge list of apps that I don't have to bother finding a website for.
Yeah, I know that's just me being lazy, but many people are:-)
What makes it single-user? Multiple users can telnet into it simultaneously using their own individual user accounts. That sounds multi-user to me. It even has the su command to change user.
That's no Atlantis. It's the Aliens and Predators we need to be watching for it we get much closer!
What causes that? I see it a lot here. With quites, trademark symbols, etc.
They should have just pointed the Minotaur at slashdot.org
Koala's whats?
Open Source != GPL
They have money, lawyers, and sell pretty nice netbooks with Ubuntu pre-installed. Let's not complain. This can only be good for everyone.
Do you really think IE8 supports the standards as well as the w3 validator?
I'm not surprised that there are some sites which validate perfectly and are still on the list of sites that don't work properly in IE8.

Why Google, iTunes!

Watch out for the monolith!

Try telling that to the Facebook people ;-)

Because better alternatives exist
And they should call it Mandrake.
Yes it is...
Microsoft uses both of them to make people feel pain

You really sound like you've spent too much time in Wal-mart.
Just take the BSOD screensaver with you on a USB stick and install it

Yeah, but you have to admit it is one of the more stylish looking devices, and has a rather nice UI.
For those reasons, there will always be people wanting to use them.
Ah, my VirtualBox appears to only have the AMD PCNet (II and III) network devices. The networking preferences in Haiku has an empty device list.
Interesting. I'm using VirtualBox 2.0.4 on Ubuntu. Did you get anywhere with networking?
