So what if "[you've] had DRM in Windows for years" Microsoft? Windows did anything but halt the 13.6 million Napster users "stealing" music, et cetera.
By your reasoning, scientists can't be scientists, because they are not ready to drop the fundamental tenants of their belief systems. i.e. God does not exist, the world is millions of years old, that Carbon-14 decays with a half-life of 5720 years, etc...
I guess you're making some assumptions that are not quite correct. Creationists do not look at the Bible as a source of scientific fact; they simply see it as a hypothesis to test. That hypothesis, simply put is that God created everything, and that things are this many years old, and so on. These hypotheses are presented just like those of secular scientists--A big bang is the source of everything, things are this many millions of years old, etc...
I like how you try to put me back on my heals by accusing me of "limiting God" and trying to make me feel bad about it by aligning me with Satan. It's not about limiting God, its about giving God the credit and not allowing generations to be brainwashed into thinking Darwinian evolution and secularist theories are fact, when they are nowhere near that.
The problem with a millions-of-years theory for Christians is that if you accept millions-of-years , and the prior existance of dinosoaurs, then you accept death, disease, and suffering prior to the fall of Adam. This doesn't fit into the belief structure of Christianity which states that prior to sin the world was without corruption or pain.
I am happy to see other creationists, open-minded agnostics, or at least cynics of Darwinian evolution posting at/.. I personally hadn't thought much about the importance (or validity) of a literal, Biblical Genesis until a group at church (a non-denom church in Georgia at that) started watching Ken Ham's Answers in Genesis videos recently.
Before the tired tirade of "fundamentalist / Christian wacko / moron / anti-science" begins, it is important to note that Christians can be scientists too, and visa versa. It seems to me that more and more credible, scientific evidence has scraped and scratched its way to the surface that calls out many of the theories that the secular world has taken for granted regarding the origins of the world, life, and intelligence. Without arguing nitty-gritty details, it is interesting enough to look at the questions of biochemical processes, discrepencies in geological and fossil records, the fundamental flaws in carbon dating, and the political motivations of secularists
This is obviously a poor attempt at a thoughtful statement, but I just wanted to throw a couple things out. I would encourage anyone with similar questions about discrepencies in carbon dating, fossilization, speciation, etc... would at least consider the scientific rebuttals to Darwin and other secularists.
On a completely unrelated topic, I'm still freaking pissed at SP2 for making Enemy Territory crash every time I load a new map, amongst many other software products. Maybe I should go back to Win98/2k and thank MS for not "enhancing" them to the point where my other apps don't work.

I snagged a Kingwin enclosure on clearance for like 10$ somewhere, and slapped in my wife's old laptop harddrive, and I've been happy with that. It's got a suh-weet blue LED that lights up when it's plugged in (USB2.0) and I've not had any real problems with it. Some systems need a kick in the drivers, but most XP systems autodetect it just fine.
If you're going to do something as minor, with such a relatively small ROI, as stick a label on stuff, and issue press releases and undoubtably a public awareness rollout..you should perhaps spend a little more time and effort on the logo. This thing looks like somebody in the office got freaky with MS Word. And then they brag about it. "oohhh...no laurel leaves, this must mean they are serious!"
"Did you notice that "new" FBI seal in the corner? Only 5 stars; no laurel leaves; shield moved up to the top of the blue field. That's the official FBI Anti-Piracy seal, just unveiled today... and you'll be seeing a lot of it in the days to come. Not just on the warning screens of videos and DVDs, but on the millions and millions of CDs, games, software packages, and other digital media that are produced each year."
"Subsequent investigation has shown this was not the result of any breach of Microsoft's corporate network or internal security, nor is it related to Microsoft's Shared Source Initiative or its Government Security Program, which enable our customers and partners, as well as governments, to legally access Microsoft source code."
How exactly does a source code leak occur, except in the event of a breach of internal security? AFAIK, the only way a leak can occur without it being a security breach is if an individual is authorized to leak it. Then it is not a breach, but a directed action.

I can't even see the demos at unicast's site using Firebird + blocking cookies...too bad for me I guess.
I'm all about paying for content (or in the case of advertising, being inconvenienced for content). People deserve to get paid for what they do. Like a previous poster, I don't mind ads that are relevant to me, (Google's AdWords, etc...), or site-content specific (OSDN ads on/.) to appeal to the demographic of the site.
But a freakin' 30second Flash McDonalds interstitial on Gamespot? Seriously. A waste of my time, and the advertiser's dollar! Now an Xbox or Radeon ad might make sense...
Actually...yeah, I had the Reuters article and the Knowledge@Wharton article up at the same time...which just so happens to have been submitted earlier in the day. Sorry about that. Can you tell I'm pretty new at this whole "submitting stories" thing?
there is a large one outside of Great Bend, KS as well. Used to be a huge deal for the B29 Bombers. In fact, they just built a nice B29 Memorial there that Bob Dole helped dedicate.
There has been quite a bit of talk in the past years about the historical value of the town, mainly to generate tourism revenue, but there really is quite a bit of interesting history about it.
If I recall correctly, they have recently begun construction to upgrade some of the old airstrips to amature drag racing-quality strips.
no joke. i was in london for a school trip that week the derailment happened, and a cross-town bus trip jumped from a 1-hour inconvenience to a 3-hour nightmare. i really had expected the tube to function at least as well as the L in chicago, seeing as how they've had the tube around for so long, but it is in need of a serious reworking, (not to mention a deep cleaning!)
I've been looking for a reputable wholesaler, as I too am in the market to propose...any suggestions? I've seen a few smaller companies from the Mid-East online, but given recent events, I wonder how great a couple thousand (okay $500) transaction to a dealer in say Syria would bode?:)

Since then, I've done some other research (Darwin's Black Box, Tornado in a Junkyard, articles from the Christian Research Institute, and so on.

whoops, the press release link is wrong..sorry. It should be the same as the one in the story. :p argh.

What is up with the link to a Coldwell Banker Real Estate Agent hidden at the bottom of the Unicast demo video page?

to apply an old adage revisted in LOTR: God is never slow. Nor is He fast. He accomplishes things precisely when He means to.
