Movie was not written by Asimov, nor does it actually follow the storylines in Asimov's robot/Foundation novels. You should choose better citations, or you may be the person your quote is speaking of.
I read "I, Robot". It's about the first implementations of robots. Try reading the robot series, where robots are advanced enough to NOT be so problematic.
Reading a wikipedia article about the movie "I, Robot" != reading Asimov's books.
With the advanced robots to come out of Asimov's works, like R. Daneel Olivaw, their AI was intelligent enough to put things into perspective. With the addition of the Zeroeth law, Olivaw didn't run around playing superhero, snuffing cigarettes and pulling babies from wells. He knew that the survival of humanity as a whole was more important than a single life, and adapted his understanding of the laws to adapt.
Hopefully Windows 8 SP 1 will come with an option to turn Metro on/off. As long as it doesn't involve direct registry modification, I could live that. If I want to make a Metro app, I can turn it on. If I want to play Hell Kitty Island Adventure with 300 FPS, I want to be able to turn it off.
How about a Windows 8, Developer Edition? A version that doesn't have Metro, just the basic start menu and trimmed-down version of their operating system specifically designed for software developers and gamers who want power and efficiency, not pretty sliding menus. I would rather my computer's RAM be occupied by the far-odd blocks on Minecraft than a smooth windows frame for some gidget that I never wanted, nor will I ever use.
I work for the Federal Government and every laptop has to have FDE in order to leave the building. This policy has been in place for years. NASA is just behind the times of every other federal agency. Too busy playing with robots, I assume.
That's my point. While the heating elements are gas or oil powered, the fans to circulate the air are electric. Even radiators require SOME electricity to operate. At least in America, even gas-powered water heaters use electricity to ignite the pilot light when the water heater is activated, the pilot light does not stay lit 24/7 like older water heaters used to.
While the idea is great, saying that the German electric grid is in great condition during mild weather is like saying that a car has excellent braking while going uphill. Let's see what happens when the temperature is hovering around freezing and there are only 8 hours of sunlight per day. Yes, I know that solar panels do not require direct sunlight to work.
If I lived in Germany, I would buy a non-electric heater. Would hate to be stuck in a blizzard with no heat because my government decided that solar panels are the best way to produce electricity.

So glad that someone else read Robots and Empire

Asimov already solved this problem for us.... the Three Laws of Robotics.
Talk about redundancy, is the author's next piece going to be about changing the value of pi?
Ubuntu 13.04
Holy Cow! Someone has broken the space-time continuum and posted from the FUTURE! Check the Twin Pines Mall for Libyans driving a Volkswagon bus.
Once Steam for Linux comes out on Ubuntu, what is the first game you will download and play?
Exactly. The plantiff can drop out of the lawsuit. A 12-year-old girl doesn't have the option of not going to school anymore.
If the plantiff's don't want a court to poke around on their Facebook page, then drop the suit or settle out of court.
Autobots, Assemble!

Join the Interplanetary Navy, where you travel to new star systems..... and blow them up!
Yes, Lieutenant Colonel (R) Allen West is rich. Didn't you know that Army officers make a bazillion dollars a year? /sarcasm
I never knew there was a quantity aspect of racism. I always thought that a racist remark was racist, no matter how many people said it.
The fact that it took less than 5 minutes for you to get down-modded shows how true your statement is.
So why isn't this blogger exposing the real identities of poster who made racist comments about Allen West and Mia Love?
Perhaps I should port the source code into Battlefield 3 so I don't crash the helicopter all the time.

I feel sorry for the guy that has to review the footage of the officers. It would defeat their purpose to install an "I have to pee" pause button.
To expand on that, you could also use ssdeep to calculate a fuzzy hash of each picture.
She could also not show the students a picture of the final project. She could just give them a list like:
1. Remove one set of shoelaces.
2. Add a bird in the sky
3. Add a portrait of Spock in the background.
etc.
And hopefully the homeowner has a good CO detector.
So there are no blizzards in Germany, eh?
