As someone else pointed out, Ethiopian's have been Christian a lot longer than the English. The country is predomintly Eastern Orthodox Christian and has been since the fall of the Roman Empire. My family was stationed there during the early sixties when I was very young and my parents have a lot of Eastern Orthodox Ethiopian friends still to this day.
It seems that every discussion of groupware is centered on providing "Outlook-like" functionality. I use outlook at work and can't help but believe that there are better approaches to this type of interface. Evolution just looks like a knock-off to me, so what! How about some real innovation in user interface design in KDE (or GNOME) instead of just trying to keep up with Micro$oft.
I have two teen age daughters that have naturally gravitated to this king of language usage. I've tried somewhat sucessfully to make them realized that it may be OK with friends but you don't see that kind of usage in business.
Even so I really wonder if I'm not the dinosaur and shouldn't get on the bandwagon. They will probably win this one in the long run.
The music industry was created some hundred years ago by advances in technology. This allowed for first the creation and then the evolution of the current corporations. That said, it is apparent that these corporations have no divine right to existence, if technology evolves either their business model will need to evolve or they will become extinct. I think they realize that but are taking the dinosaur's approach instead of the primates. They are fighting it and not trying to adapt to it. They will probably (hopefully) suffer the same result: extinction. Even so you really can't brgrudge them trying to survive because that's what the battle is really all about, survival.
I recently purchased a Palm m505. While I really like Sony's features and such I really don't like Sony's actions as part of the big 5 entertainment group. They are a strong advocate of the DMCA and seem to be on the forefront of actions to restrict a consumers ability to use their personal property. As such I have made a decision to avoid their products.
