"So WHO issues a list of 12 most worrying drug-resistant bacteria the other day..."
"Really? Drug resistant bacteria?"
"Yep."
"Who released it?"
"WHO did."
"That's what I asked, who released it?"
"The bacteria?"
"No, the list. Who released it?"
"Exactly."
In 100 years - hell, maybe 50 years - we'll have swarms of nanobots that will burrow into these landfills and re-mine them back into their original materials. Landfills will cease to be places no one wants; vast legal battles will ensue as municipalities fight with states and the feds over ownership of the contents. Just think of the amount of raw material that will one day be harvested from the Los Angeles landfill! Literally trillions of dollars is buried in our backyards, for future generations to reap. Don't think of it as a landfill, think of it as the fridge out back - we're just saving it for later use. In the end, all of it will be recycled.
sorry but the "GOP obstruction" is just a meme. And DailyKos as a source? Seriously? The GOP did nothing to stop anything Obama wanted, and the GOP didn't control anything until 2010, anyway. You had two full years of total control - before the population freaked over what you were doing and took it away from you. Besides...Obama got three of his cabinet picks with hours of his inauguration, and the rest within 7 days - and you called that "legendary obstruction". Now if that is "legendary obstruction", then what the Democrats are doing now can only be scorched-earth sedition.
One wonders then, where the 2.67 trillion for infrastructure in three failed stimuluses over the last eight years, went. It's funny that the media seems completely incurious about this. The lifetime wages of hundreds of millions of people not yet born, spent on....what, exactly? The entire US highway system cost just under 500billion over 60 years. Spending 2.67 trillion in 6 years and having nothing to show for it but crumbling infrastructure, kind of boggles the mind.
I've been studying this for literally 30 years. [yawn] Still waiting for the flood. Sure see a lot of Noah wannabees though. You'd think 30 years of fearmongering, failed models, and blown predictions would've lessened the fanaticism on the Left. But like they like to say: never let a crisis go to waste. And this crisis literally can hand them control over the entire human race. So, needless to say - you're all pretty motivated. You're so motivated and think you're all such geniuses, that you don't even bother to notice when NOAA posts obviously contradictory data in the same release. https://realclimatescience.com...
Get back to me in 30 more years, and we'll do this again from my yacht in Utah. m'kay?
this is great news! I hope it also has a function to destroy the wife's phone as well...makes it easy to clean up any loose ends after you divorce her by text message. It is Saudi Arabia, after all.
Snowden claims to have actual evidence that it's a CIA plot. That's what he told Der Spiegel. And that top NOAA scientist just leaked that they fudged the temp records to scare people for the Paris conference. I guess we'll have to see which "facts" are alternate, and which are not.
why does the left constantly have to use skewed "facts" in the green debate? Of course NEW power in Europe is largely going to green energy - there are trillions of euros in green subsidies, and many countries have frozen their conventional power plant construction for all intents and purposes. So this statistic is just meaningless cheerleading.
...is that solar energy is not only less efficient with its physical footprint, but it's allocation of human labor. Solar still provides only a small percentage of our energy output, yet uses more labor than all the other forms combined? That's called INEFFICIENCY. It's a bug, not a feature.
especially since most of the things that we said about Obama the last eight years have proven to be true. (Or was Benghazi really all about a youtube video? Wikileaks blew that lie up, didn't they?) Don't worry...you may think there isn't enough time, but I bet you'll give it a go anyway. Must. Hate. Trump. Must. Hate. Trump.
I simply don't understand why the greenies consider it a success that they've forced people to do something. You're removing their other options, and forcing them to accept yours. If this was a voluntary process, you could claim some success...as it is, you're just righteously indignant bullies.
riiiight because that's how you treat people that you want to innovate for you...like toxic waste dumpers. Please tell me you're not a project manager.
I've been at it 25 years. It's gotten to the point where it's a grind. Sometimes I think if I have to open a another for next loop I'm going to scream. I stare at a computer monitor more hours than I sleep. I'm tired of clients that don't understand the first thing about IT. I'm tired of bloated libraries that slow down pages and fight for control of the browser. I'm tired of low-coding platforms like squarespace... they've cheapened what actual designers do, reducing artistry to a bunch of templates. WordPress in particular is a bane on all of humanity. (I can't tell you the number or WP sites I've had to "fix" in the last few years.) Jesus Christ I was an ActionScript programmer for years; I should have my own circle of hell by now. Graphic designer jobs are being slowly eroded by things like fiver. It's become increasingly difficult to do anything really fun or interesting or anymore, and most of the fun and interesting things have either been done, or have been made illegal. I can honestly say that the most positive thing I've seen in the last few years has been that HTML5 actually seems to work. After fighting with HTML4 for years, it has been a godsend...but now they just go to Wix anyway, so who cares, right? And yeah, when I look back on it, connecting to my friend's BBS on a 9600baud modem from my Myarc9640 was slightly more fun.
Right. He had active Bio and Chem WMD programs, but had mothballed his nuke program in 1999 in favor of buying off-the-shelf from NKorea. And even though they were "right" - it's hardly mattered in the long run, has it?
Yeah, but the problem is using them at all in many cases. I know designers that pull in huge jquery libraries rather than write their own hoverswap script, for example. People are becoming too dependent on these libraries, rather than simply learning HTML. HTML5 has come a long way...the HTML4 days sucked major ass.
This is not going to end well. Obama has spent the last eight years "leading from behind", drawing red lines, and pontificating constantly. All of our enemies have laughed at him. His threats are meaningless. And now, here he is, standing up to big bad Russia in his final days? The problem is this: he either means it or he doesn't. It's either an empty threat (as usual) or he's suddenly going to get tough and "serious". Because of his history, however, there is an inherent miscalculation. Russia is either going to laugh at him (as usual), and Obama will trigger a war, or Russia is going to smack him right back because Obama's gone in a month anyway, and there's little risk. In either case, this was bad time to start playing chickenhawk.
Were you alive, then? Because it was a 14-month march to war. Bush made a dozen speeches making his case. Powell did the UN presentation. They got a UN resolution, and two authorizations of force from congress. And EVERY security service on the face of the planet said Saddam had WMDs - including the one you are trusting now about the Russians. I think what you're thinking of is Libya...where we have the emails that show a cabal of globalists in France, Britain, and the US - Soros probably among them but not mentioned - got Hillary to push Obama into destroying Libya. The reason they did it is because Ghaddafi was creating a currency to rival the petrodollar, and they were worried it would fuck up their oil portfolios. There was no authorization for that. It happened very quickly. It's been kept out of the news. Nobody realizes why it even happened, and no one even realizes that it is one of FIVE hot wars we are fighting right now. We've conducted over 1200 sorties this year in Libya alone, and have over 5,000 special ops forces on the ground. Stop worrying about 15-year old leftwing conspiracy theories, and worry about what's happening NOW.
No, reality does not "have a liberal bias"...that's just a bumper sticker slogan you lefties like to pass around like herpes to reaffirm your own biases. You tell yourselves all kinds of fake things, all the time.
Unless, of course you really do believe Benghazi was all about youtube video, or that you really can keep your insurance if you like it, or that the Russians really did "hack the election" (by exposing Democrat corruption). And, you probably do.
But that's the point...you aren't censored from public "infrastructure". You can still set up a website for yourself and post [pretty much] whatever you want.
You mean "welcome to the Trump future, where we'll literally blame him for everything we failed at, as well as everything that happens to happen for eight long tedious years".
People are watching media on their phones now....and there's a lot more phones. So we need less TVs. This really isn't complicated.
"So WHO issues a list of 12 most worrying drug-resistant bacteria the other day..."
"Really? Drug resistant bacteria?"
"Yep."
"Who released it?"
"WHO did."
"That's what I asked, who released it?"
"The bacteria?"
"No, the list. Who released it?"

c'mon guys...it writes itself....
...and it offers very little to the general public, and also "grossly overestimates how much one can make". Uber will be fine.

I have already designed a network security device to do exactly that:

Plus a version that offers double the security:

Sure, "left behind" = "passenger went to TSA looking for it 5 minutes later and TSA didn't have a clue where it was"
