  1. Left and Right is all there is. People who refuse to recognize this fact are simply too afraid to find out what side they're on.

  2. The only responsible and appropriate response is "don't respond to hypotheticals" or "no answer". The fact that Twitter even raced to answer the question with the appropriate leftist response to leftist fearmongering only shows why they're dying. Hillary said a lot of stupid things on the campaign trail as well...how about everyone just chills for a moment and see what he actually *does* before breaking out the pitchforks and torches? This insane hyperbolic response to everything Trump does is getting really really old...and he's not even into his second term yet.

  3. The SPLC are just leftist shills. Like, seriously. Trump is on record saying he wants to close the DOE and send school control back to the states - like it was before Carter created this failure of a department. Even if what you say is true...she makes a perfect administrator to overseee that process.

  4. ...and in an interview with Der Spiegel, Snowden claims to have numerous bombshells he can still drop - and as a tease, he claimed he has the docs to prove that global warming is a CIA hoax. Oh, who to believe. [sigh]

What you warming fearmongers are going to have to come to grips with first is that it *is* a hoax...whether it's the chinese or the CIA or just a bunch of socialists and communists that have found a winning strategy. Every year, around 100 scientists leave the IPCC in disgust, while 200 more sign up. And all the people that leave say the same thing, "the science has been corrupted and research is being cherry-picked and massaged to fit a predetermined political narrative."

  5. This has nothing to do with teaching creationism is schools. This is about devolving govt power and denying it the ability to mandate curriculum in the first place; ie teaching creationism in schools. Public schools have failed. Jimmy Carter created the DOE to fix the problem, and test scores have literally gotten progressively worse since then. It is an abject failure at every level, both in it's stated mission and actual success...and over time the entire department has simply become a clearinghouse for union salaries and curriculum control to promote leftist ideology. The fact that Howard Zinn is being taught in schools now and Saul Alinsky was on many required summer reading lists is all the proof you need. Close the DOE, let kids go wherever they want to go, and return all the curriculum control back to the states. It's not that the "golden age" has ended...it's that the "golden age of leftism" has ended. Sorry 'bout that, but now it's time to make *actual* progress.

  6. I remember a story from 2002 about chinese scientists claiming to have isolated the "gay genes". Gay rights groups at first heralded the announcement as proof that homosexuality is biological, not a choice...but then were horrified to learn that the chinese govt intended to "fix" the genes. No more gays. "Problem solved".

This sort of technology will yield all kinds of horrible fruit; this is merely the beginning. Having a communist superstate leading the way is not something to be applauded.

It wasn't a question on employment forms until the early 70s. Until then, it had actually been considered a huge accomplishment of the civil rights movement to get those checkboxes removed. We have to stop marinating in group identity politics; it's corrosive. If we want a truly colorblind society, then we have to live in one.

  10. ...anyone remember when the government got involved in the cable companies back in the early 90s, and Gore promised to regulate them and lower our cable bills? Good times.

  11. Riiiight, but you exempt unions from "structures that corrupt", for some reason. Why? Once a union has achieved the purpose for which it was formed, it should be disbanded. Anything else only leads to corruption. I have dealt with several unions in the course of my job...they are [mostly] corrupt where I come from, with deep ties to organized crime and govt graft. Beside, you forget the most important part: unionized companies fail at almost twice the rate of non-union ones. What good does that serve any worker? But I get it - you're a leftie who's deeply invested in collective ideologies and obsessed with unions as the solution to everything. Good luck with that.

  12. That's not true at all. Unions are connected to TRADES. Many unions are organized in many companies. So when the sheet metal workers union #234 takes over Cleveland Metal Widgets, makes demands, and crashes the company...they move on to another company that works with sheet metal and begin unionizing all over again. Power structures always corrupt, and are rarely destroyed.

  14. Nobody has a problem with individuals freely choosing to form a group for collective bargaining rights to fix a problem with their employer...but afterwards, these same groups follow the same trajectory of all groups that have lived past their usefulness and mission: they become corrupt. All power corrupts - and that includes unions. All you need to do is look at the cozy relationship these unions have with political power. I came form one of the most heavily unionized states in the country, the home of the New England mafia for generations...I have seen firsthand how this all ends.

I am amazed at the responses to my post about Tesla making more money off carbon credits than selling cars. I have gotten more responses to this simple fact than virtually anything else I have ever posted on Slashdot, ever. Which leads me to ask one simple question: why? What is it about Tesla that it is such a sacred cow, that no one can point out the elephant in the room? It's *just* a corporation. I like Teslas, and like electric cars...I just believe the battery technology isn't really there yet. I like Musk, and his space programs. I'd love to go to Mars. But what is so special about this car that everyone needs to bend over backwards to "adjust reality" to make it work? Despite all the fancy talk about amortization and depreciation and investments in new factories and pushing costs into different years and accounting gimmicks, the fundamental truth never changes: if there were no carbon credits, there would be no "success". And since carbon credits are essentially a fantasy - this is all smoke and mirrors. It's really that simple. Call me when an electric car company can make a car that can compete with all the other cars in the market fairly, and doesn't need fantasy credits and subsidies to make the math work. Is that too much to ask?

hahahaha as if the shareholder data isn't skewed to make the shareholders happy with their investment, and attract more of it. These things get complicated once you start factoring in the loans and the credits and the cost curve and the development and the depreciation...but if I make a widget that costs $10, and I sell it for $7, and you give me $5...that doesn't mean that it's a $3 profit, no matter how you juggle the numbers and depreciate the costs and invest in new factories. At the end of the day, you'll just have more factories churning out more cars you have to sell for less than they cost to make.

It hardly matters where they sell them; it's where they are made that matters. That's where the credits come from. If I get subsidized to build a car in CA, it hardly matters if I sell it in CA or Europe. The subsidy has been given and the manufacturing done...that is the only transaction that matters.

  21. why are you in such denial? How else would I prove interconnections between political surrogates, then? If I can't use real data to make connections, and I can't just "imagine that they exist"...then it's impossible to "prove" interconnections, EVEN WHEN THEY DO EXIST. (What does Facebook do all day, but find interconnections between people...are all of those invalid, as well? Sure about that?) It seems to me that the problem is not me looking for connections that aren't there - the records prove that they are - it's you being in denial, and refusing to see the obvious; EVEN WHEN GIVEN EVIDENCE. Saying "none of it" is meaningful is just as ludicrous a position as saying that "all of it" is.

So, please, enlighten me...by what voodoo do you suggest these connections can be illuminated, then, if real data cannot be used?

  22. No that's not what the links says. The site is driven by a database of public filings, financial disclosures, and members of boards of directors...which is then connected to demonstrate the network that the Left lives on. If it's a circle jerk, it's only because the Left is a circle jerk. If you don't understand that communism is a failed ideology; then that is the larger problem.

And yeah, the American Left is cooperating with the communists (because communism is a leftwing ideology), and fundamental islam. Examples of this abound - from Hillary wanting to import Syrian muslims who believe in female genital mutilation in seemingly the largest quantity possible, and in the shortest time possible....to the Mayor of London (a muslim) removing ads from the tube that show women in bikinis because of sharia - with the full support of western leftist feminists...to Hillary putting the father of the Orlando gay nightclub shooting onstage with her at a rally. In fact, you'd be hard pressed to find any issue that the Democrat party is *not* cooperating with radical Islam on...usually with the assistance of CAIR.

  23. Seriously, what is the endgame here? Having robots adjudicate human rights? How in the world does that seem like progress to anyone?

  24. jesus you're just another commie peddling failed ideologies. I don't need to "prove" a connection between organized crime and communism; every single communist country has it. From the Red Mafia in the Soviet Union, to the graft and corruption in Cuba, to the hundreds of people in China executed every year for corruption.....everywhere communism takes root, it brings along with it massive corruption both inside an outside the government. And since communism is literally based on the theft of people's labor en masse, the entire form of govt can be seen as a massive criminal enterprise.

I'm done talking to you. You're obviously so brainwashed by leftism...how about you move to Venezuela and leave us alone? It is, after all, the end-product of all that you desire. Revel in it.
