It's a matter of progress over the rules. IMHO Microsoft makes a decent piece of software, granted it is full of holes and bloat, because they worry less about function and more about form.

Most acts of progress stem from acts of defiance, the art of code and what it can create. You take a service which has an excellent concept and move a group of programmers to improve upon it and make it better then the original piece of software, of coarse because this is removing revenue and not coming from the programmers at Microsoft then it must be eliminated, it would be much more intelligent to take a look at why these projects pop up and try to assimilate some ideas and/or programmers into their fold. Personally I like a lot less bloat and not to worried about how pretty it looks.

Is it wrong to access a system unauthorized and unlicensed, yes. Do I agree with Microsoft in shutting them out, I do. It is of coarse their prerogative, but I still wish to see greater things come from it, and unfortunately that will come from outside of Redmond.

That though is just my opinion.

So what if a few skip the initial $7.50 preview....

Skipping the previews is a violation of the DMCA, which the UK had before the USA (section 296 of the UK's Copyright Act [hmso.gov.uk])

I belive he was refering to the movie as a "preview" of the movie before purchasing the DVD.

I can't believe anyone could think that politicians are infoulable. You will never have a perfect president in the eyes of everyone. I think we lose sight of the big picture. When I look back at the clinton days I see a nation which is propering. I see us on the road to wiping out the national debt. I realize that many of the scandals were in the pipe before bush was in office. I'm not blaming bush for that. What I am blaming him for is his own overall incompetance.

As for the voting system which is the topic. The american people are not yet ready to be honest, until we find a way to stop voter fraud. Certainly not with a machine that forces people to have faith that the company who built the machine. We will never have an honest election of any kind. You throw enough money in our face and we all become whores.

  5. Re:Good riddance on The Tick to be Cancelled · · Score: 1

There is a reason why the tick is being canceled and "the family man" (Family Guy) isn't. Family guy I see to be trashed because it's intelligent stupidity. It has a witty quality among the madness that this abomination of the tick could never achieve. Although animation does rip down alot of barriers.

  6. It's a blessing, on The Simpsons Season 1 on DVD · · Score: 1

Well think about it, if they are releasing season 1 of the simpsons, despite the crude drawing and all it's flaws of it's time, shurly if it does well they will keep up the trend, for die hard simpson fans, this is a blessing, if ya didn't like the first few seasons, ya skip it and wait for the seasons as they are released.

My theory is it would be a good way for 2 people to both contribute to a project on a single computer.
I guess this could work. It's one of those things where it's a nice novelty but no real future.
